The biggest worry isn’t even that the teams close to us are getting their recruitment right either.

Huns and the Sheep have been awful in the transfer market as well.

Killie’s full team are on 35k a week. That’s probably what we’re paying Sinclair...

You're now making assumptions that Rodgers would pay £7 million for McKenna, I don't believe for a second he would, even if he could. By all accounts we offered half that last summer and haven't made any contact with Aberdeen since.

We took up the option on Edouard's deal, next year's accounts will make interesting reading, I'm sure it will be similar to the Simunovic fee and not £9 million up front. However for the purposes of this conversation let's assume that was his fee. That still leaves a surplus of £19 million in transfer fees when you consider the amount brought in for Armstrong, Dembele and Roberts (and circa £70-80k per week in wages)

That's not taking into account that we banked £7.5 million for the Van Dijk sell-on fee. Something that wouldn't have budgeted for in the accounts and should have therefore been at least in part made available to Rodgers.

Extremely hypercritical. He qualified for the Champions League in successive seasons - something Martin O'Neill couldn't even achieve with a far easier route and a far stronger team. We have also gained 2 draws with Guardiola's Man City team, a draw against a very tidy Gladbach team (a McGregor semi-sitter away from a win) and a comprehensive win against Anderlecht away (our 2nd in history, again a feat that MoN couldn't achieve with a far stronger squad). To suggest he's shown nothing is just absolute nonsense.

The fact he even wants him, never mind offering £3.5m, is enough to tell him he’s not in charge of the recruitment.

So at what point do we stop just handing him money? When the wage bill his £70m? £80m?
It doesn’t matter how much money we make if it all just goes on utter *.

No matter what anyone says Edouard wasn’t worth £9m. If we’re going to be spending that sort of money on players they need to be looking like Messi in this league and be the main man for us in Europe.

Hypercritical? Look at his record here and at Liverpool. It’s shocking. Anderlecht where in complete disarray when we play them away. They showed us up in the home game when they had an actual manager. Gladbach bodied us in the home game as well. City had already qualified when we went there and were giving youth/reserves some game time.

Since then we’ve increased the wage bill, broken our record transfer and been put out the CL by AEK. One of the worst teams in CL history statistically. And we’ve qualified for the last 32 of the Europa thanks to a late Rosenberg equaliser.

If you’re so confident Rodgers has what it takes to make us competitive in Europe and it’s down to us to match his ambition. What is it we need to do?

A very, very easy answer to what point we don’t hand him money.

The point he is unsuccesful with us.

There’s zero point in not backing a manager, whether some fans disagree with him or no.

So we just keep handing him money for dross and an ever increasing wage bill until then?

    Completely disagree.

We back him to whatever budget we have available or we sack him.

    One or the other.

Don’t not back him, give him a lot less money, bring in more dross and keep expecting him to pull off miracles. You either trust the setup at the club and your manager or you don’t.

Don’t tie two arms round his back and then keep expecting to have very good results.

So how much more money would you give him then?

He hasn’t had his arms tied around his back at all.

If he isn’t willing to work under a DOF and accept him and his pal have been an utter disaster on the recruitment side then aye.

We’re regressing each season. The more it becomes his squad the worse it gets.

Where’s this pish about us spending allsorts with Rodgers as Manager?

He sold more, value wise, in 1 single window in the Summer than he’s bought in how many windows now, 5 or 6?

Yes, he has but that’s probably personal opinion.

I’ve just told you, as much as we possibly can. He should be given all the money we have possible to put into the team until he stops producing results on the pitch.

Of all the sackings there's ever been in World Football that would top the lot for being the most batshit crazy. Even moreso than Ranieri sacked months after winning the EPL with Leicester.

The guy has won ever single domestic trophy since his arrival, went through a whole domestic season without a single defeat and has done so on a transfer deficit of 10s of millions of £s.

We would be a laughing stock. Imagine any prospective new manager considering the job looking at that. They'd run a mile.

According to the accounts I am sure he has spent around £34m in the 5 1/2 windows so far.

He has brought in £39m (excluding the Van Dijk sell on)

    Profit on trading £5m

Of that £34m over half of it £19m of it was spent on 3 players

    Edouard £9m
    Sinclair £4.5m
    Ntcham £4.5m

So he has been backed the rest of the signings do leave a lot to be desired tbh. But I agree with you like Lennon was in profit of £17.86m by the end of his time here and Ronny was in £12m profit in terms of nett spend

There is not a chance he’s spent 34 million.

    And 9+4.5+4.5 doesn’t equal 19 either.

    Agree with that..

I'm no happy with his signings overall and some of those he's been after but....if we're gonna * about with target's in dribs and drabs like McGinn. Fail to go all out for other's and repeatedly have to settle for loan's after....then what's the point..

He's pulled some right duds out the bag and we've probably had some very near escapes being priced out for diddies like McKenna, but.....he's definitely been let down at the same time..

Trust and back the manager or there's no point in him being here..

From no knowing about Arzani to us upping bids by 50 grand for our only real money transfer this window....was shoddy as * and show no positive progress between Brendan and Lawwell..

The reason we got Arzani is because Rodgers kept chasin Harry Wilson even though Liverpool let it be known repeatedly they wouldn’t let him come here after the Musonda debacle.

And the upping bids by 50k was proven to be pish.

So you’d give him the £40m sitting in the bank? Or would you give him even more?

I’m sure 99% of managers would bite their hand off to be earning £2.5m a year with a wage budget of £60m that is more than the rest of the country put together.

We aren’t paying a manager that much and spending that amount on a team to win stuff domestically and not compete in Europe.

They rejected Wilson coming here before the Musonda loan as well..

Just excuses on their part as we've generally been good with our loans and Musonda hadn't pulled up any trees anywhere. Getting rejected twice is embarrassing though and we should've had some inclination that would happen before getting a rid neck again publicly..

Ah fair enough I thought that was legit. They did reject us a couple of time's though didn't they before letting him sign?
