I strongly disagree with everything you’ve said here, especially the part about needing a new manager.

 

To be fair i think most people's feelings are coming from not signing a centre back maybe there is one identified and maybe that centre back cant move until summer for one reason or another we will sign a RB thats my opinion on the matter.

And as the article says... hes going to get filleted in the media for it.

Hes making excuses, roundy roundy we go every * window with interchangable excuses which try to mask the obviousness of our clubs actions.

I can guarentee right now that "journalists" for the rags are scouring twitter and fan forums alike, in order to post it up as news. But for whats probably the first time... im looking forward to it.

Rodgers and lawell need * savaged for this. The board needs a * flamethrower put to it.

He stated that we need these positions before, and he's publicly slated the board for their refusal to back him with transfers. For all we know he could be going to the board with a list of CBs and RBs and telling them to get them at all costs and they could be saying "no it's not our market value for a player in that position" or "we tried but his demands were too high" there's lots of things that come into it. Your acting as if the board is saying "come on Brendan give us a name for CB and RB we've got the money good to go"

 

And FTR I can see him leaving in the summer because of the issue of not being financially backed. Lenny had that problem and apparently Deila did too - an obvious pattern emerging

 

It's the way he seems to have given up that is most disturbing. You can almost hear the sound of him washing his hands of the whole thing in the latest interviews.

I know. I was agreeing with you that it does seem likely.

 

If we do not sign at least 1 CB and a RB in this window then it is a failing of the Manager and the board. If the Manager doesn't see the need then the board should be questioning why, if the Board won't spend then The Manager should be saying so. Less than 2 weeks until the window shuts there is still time to sign players but there is still time for Boyata to have another huff and do a Dembele and down tools and force a last minute move leaving us with one less CB. All the signs seem to point to no signing and Brendan going in the Summer. To go from the Invincible season to this, not investing in the team, filling it with 6 month loanees when Brendan himself said he needs at least 18 months to develop these young players. I feel the Board, particularly Lawell , are taking the * out of everyone who spends their hard earned cash on season tickets. As long as their is a chance to get TIAR they know the fans will still keep buying the season tickets, if we loose the league this season that's when they will spend to get us through the gates. At the end of the summer transfer window Brendan was very much vocal on not getting the players he wanted but he seems a bit resigned to the fact he isn't going to get the players he wants which pretty much suggests he is off I the summer.

I don't want Brendan to go What are we really expecting from our board moneywise? What are we really expecting given the league we're in. We're always going to be the big fish in the wee pond and the board are satisfied with that. It wont matter what manager gets brought in.

 

Seriously though...I think the lack of transfer in the last window and this one is Big Pete covering up all the * up transfers he and whoever else has made.

The thing that bothers me the most is that he publicly brags about the financial standing of the club and how diligent we are with our resources, yet he doesn't understand how hoarding our transfer budget and getting in free/cheap loan deals is the exact opposite of diligent. Everyone knows that Lawwell is just an executive who cares foremost about balance sheets with the football product being secondary, but even from a financial perspective this is no way to run a club as there will be no return on investments from these young loan players (with the exception of Bayo since he signed permanently) and cheap 30+ year olds towards the end of their careers.

 

* shambolic from celtic yet again. the only with that statement is it was given today. we usually wait till the last day of the window before conceding defeat. but it was always going to come to this. all the meetings between pl, br and dd was just a crock of *.

 

Touching on what another poster said...

Im im mcinnes or slippy, or clarke, or levien, or lennon...

I look at those comments, i look at the transfer activity... and i would say, " thats a defence we can and already HAVE turned over".

And i bet none all of those managers are looking at defoe, looking at davis (as pish and old as they are) and wondering how they can be neutralized.
