Really don't get why he was playing a central midfielder at lb if hayes or Izzy ain't up to it get them out and get somebody in who can play it .in Rodgers first season he changed the team the shape of personnel when it needed it was clear from from the first few minutes today that we couldn't get up the field

If I was Izzy, or even Hayes, I'd be seriously considering my future when Rodgers would rather play our best midfielder at LB than me......

    Got it wrong.

Why we sat off that lot I'll never know.

Is it all Brendan’s fault again? I can’t be bothered reading back past the page I opened but going by what I read it’s enough to make me not check.

Don’t really see what team he could have went with apart from who we started with.

2 early subs left him with little options. All we could do was bring on Eddy who was half fit.

Hopefully loosing that is enough of a wake up call for the players. Many of them need to be shown the door. New faces needed.

I look forward to the second half of the season. I don’t for one second have any doubt we will win it, the “challenge” from Aberdeen and the Huns can only drive us on.

You have to say that the recruitment and the policy we operate in so not working.

There is something rotten and has to change...Celtic act like penny pinchers.

And an 18 yr old loanee ain’t gonna solve * all.

No but it has a lot to do with the fact out best Left back was injured and didn’t have another option. Let’s be honest McGreggor didn’t have a bad game while playing there.

Our best left back was deemed fit enough for the benc

But not fit enough to start?

    Rubbish.

Why was Izzy signed if he’s not good enough to cover at his natural position.

Neither do I, but if he was deemed fit enough for the bench then he would have been fit enough to start.

    Bad management, nothing else.

The frustrating thing is that the deficiencies that were exploited today are the same ones that have been glaring for not only this season but much of last as well. Any manager that wants to beat us exploits these areas & that was brought home to roost again today,

A GK who has extremely poor distribution for a team that wants to play possession football from the back.

A centre back who is being asked to initiate play from the back but panics badly when put under pressure.

A RB who struggles to get forward, lacks mobility and who lacks recovery pace.

A pedestrian central midfield pair that play side to side football with one (Ntcham) that if he’s not going missing for most of our games, he’s barely able to keep the ball in play.

A LW that has far more poor games than good yet is untouchable in the managers eyes.

A lack of options in the striker department.

    No suitable cover at LB.

And a lack of battling qualities.

I think most of us can see this, yet it has not been addressed. For the most part we’ve got away with it, but a perfect storm of circumstances came together today culminating in that disastrous performance. With the injuries to Tierney & Edouard and Griffiths missing our undermanned positions were patched up with makeweights leaving us vulnerable before a ball was kicked. Once the whistle went our teams’ other weaknesses were further exposed. Lustig on the wane, Gordon and Boyata crumbling under pressure, pedestrian midfield duo, no presence up top, Sinclair off the boil again.

We are on the slide and need some significant recruitment over the next two windows as we have done for some time. Get shot of the deadwood and bring in a quality (or at least ones that can carry out the style of play Rodgers wants) GK, RB, CB, ST, LW (unless Morgan or Edouard can excel out there), decent cover at LB and a first team ready ST who can put himself about. Also build the midfield around MacGregor. He should not be getting shoe horned in or making way for others, he needs to be our linchpin from now on.

Why on earth did he not play Hayes today? He was brilliant against Aberdeen. If McGregor plays in the middle then we play a * of a lot better. Disgraceful decision by Rogers, unless he was injured. I hate to doubt him but that was an awful decision, as was putting Mikey up front. It's one thing to do it against a bottom of the league team, but to go in to your first match against the scum at this time was a ridiculous decision. He should of came on after Edouard did what he could, be that 45 or 60 minutes. He was so isolated he didn't stand a chance today.

Edouard and Tierney on the bench , Rogic ineligible then some trying to be too smart tactics wich we have seen a few games away from home this season wich need to be adressed , i dont think we'll drop points at home this season but, maybe he's doing it on purpose at times to force the boards hand saying this is what iv'e got you have sold Dembele and got nothing in return lost roberts and armstrong from squad of options too.

We lost more in midfield than we gained at LB by playing him there. I don't think anyone would disagree. Hayes or Izzy should have been there & if they cant be trusted then they shouldn't be at the club. Too much deadwood at the club and players on the slide, we need to stop the scattergun approach to buying players and get some quality in.

De Vries, Hendry, Commper, Gamboa, Kouassi, Mulumbu, Izzy, Hayes, Allan have all barely kicked a ball for us and with the exception of maybe one or two of them I think we could all see that they weren't the answer before they signed.
