It's frightening how average we have become with him in charge going into his 3rd season. Liverpool all over again

The thing about our wages tells me recruitment do not know where to get cheap players. They could obviously get them from Holland as I would assume only possibly ajax matches PSVs bill.

Brendan should have fixed the problems in the team last January instead of blaming too many games and saying the players just needed a break

the players got their break and nothing changed in the performances.. then the problem was compounded in the summer window when no NEW class players were brought in .. keeping players who don't want to be here is never going to work -- only end up losing us millions .. watch Boyata sign a pre season in Jan

Congerton should never have been brought in.. he done * all at his last club. Guy is a no mark and time he was gone

Another problem we probably face is paying players not to go to England where pay is over inflated. I think there are times we should give into the players but I do wonder if we have too many on 20k plus a week. I imagine at the moment we have Brown, Benkovic, Forrest, Griffiths, Eddy, Sinclair, Tierney, Gordon, Rogic and Ntcham. Could this money be better spread?

I don't know if that is an issue for us..

If we're directly competing with an English side then aye, but I don't think we bump up wages just because the inflated market is right next door. We're the gateway to that....that carrot is enough to entice in the market we are, or rather should be operating in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Holland etc..

Could the money be better spent? Without a shadow of a doubt, in general..

Some of them like Griff, Forrest and certainly Benkovic....I can't see us paying 20 grand a week. Gordon definitely no..

Thats what we are now ,average.
We get away with it in the league because the rest are no better, the reality is we are playing well below the standard we should be playing at giving the players we have at club.

This is down to Rodgers and he needs to sort it but its been going on a while now and sadly he seems unable to turn it around.
Its not just the defeats that * people off but way we are playing is depressing,as i said he,s getting away with it in the league but its clear to see even against the weaker teams our displays in general are average and to me its unacceptable.

Benkovic I bet from Leicester is on over 20k a week and Forrest's new contract I would have thought would be. Anyway a report I read last year said average is 14k a week.

It's gonna be deemed knee *,harsh, stupid, etc etc

    He's done.

I said after the Killie game that had it been a mowbray type manager, he would be expected to walk.
It's simply hasn't got any better. Performance wise we all hoped the Aberdeen game was a turning point, but it wasn't. They play more open against us and we still struggled.

I think he is one of the best managers we can get. But for whatever reason,he isn't good for us right now and he can't fix this.
This has been an issue since game 50 of the unbeaten run , where we started to labour to results and we all thought once the pressure of the unbeaten run was gone, we would click again. 12months later.... We are * worse.

If he has personal gripes, he needs to deal with that himself, because it's * us as a team.
Or is he just incapable to turn this around. It's getting worse. That tonight was a disgrace.

Love him, want him to make this work. But we are literally * ourselves in hope he can turn this around.

It's almost time to call an end to it.

We won't be paying a large chunk of Benkovic' wage. They were actively punting him on loan this window..

Average wage 14 grand seems like it's too high for us for what we have..

We definitely can't afford to be having guy's like Sinclair on the bench for 30 bag's. Bitton for 15+ and Simunovic around the same..

    * we've just got bundles of player's collecting a wage doing fuckall. De Vries, Gamboa, Compper, Simunovic, Kouassi, Allan, Christie, Hayes and the list goes on..

The amount of garbage amongst it that has been allowed to fester away strolling about doing keepy uppys at training is soul destroying..

I honestly don't think he is the man right now. He has been tremendous but I think his time is up. He can't get the team to play for him, I think he will be gone at the end of the season if not sooner. We know so many players in our team can be awesome but none of them have been this season. I think KT and Jamesy are the only ones who have been to a consistently good standard but they can't carry a team.

Other way around for me, I think.

Recruitment is the issue, how much of that lands at Rodgers feet I don't know. Easily half the players aren't anywhere near good enough for Europe and don't have a hope in * of becoming good enough - we just keep getting fooled into thinking they are because sometimes we destroy teams domestically.

Salzburg tonight had a better standard of player in every position. That wasn't just form and confidence, they're just better and they cost a lot less than ours did.

It's not just some fluke, they didn't just accidentally buy good players, they obviously focus on it. We claim to focus on it but really just end up accepting utter dross. Every opportunity is there for Celtic, that we don't do it really is gross mismanagement at every level.

If he doesn't fix this and do it with a title win that is befitting of Celtic, then I agree. I want the romantic notion of this to work for him, but it's getting actually bad

So bad that folk actually think this league is competitive.

We should be on 19-21 points right now with hearts on 16 as a close second and the rest struggling around 11-14points.
    .but we aren't.

I think there's still lingering resentment for how poor our summer was handled. I think Rodgers is struggling to move past that and can understand that to be fair.

We knew this summer's window would cost us, we'll feel the effects for a while and it's becoming increasingly hard to see Rodgers staying here long term.

The team is stale, players unsettled and Rodger's doesn't have it within him to ignite the old spark again. Would be a shame if he left now, but have to admit the thought of Neil Lennon walking in and reinvigorating this team is appealing to me...

Think were getting our wires crossed mate .. i agree with you 100% bottom line is the problem lie in the management sure the board have to take some responsibility but rogers does not seem to be any longer able to get the best from the players he has at his disposal.

Coming out the stadium tonight I was seething. Talking to different boys it was all pretty unanimous.

1-0 up at half time away from home was a fantastic position considering we rode our luck towards the end. A good manager would've took off a striker to go either 5-4-1 or 4-5-1 and dug in for a result.

Its amazing how other teams with a fraction of our budget are able to do a number on us but we can't do a number on anyone else.

This isn't flippantly overlooking his domestic results but in the 2 years 3 months in charge.what team have we beaten that we weren't favourites to beat beforehand?

Probably only Anderlecht away and they were in freefall with a stand in manager..

Home against Zenit who hadn't played for month's and we were their first competitive game, then got blitzed away. Wasn't too dissimilar to tonight in fact. Shocking defending. Lustig unable or getting done by a cross. Could barely attack..

Absolutely unfathomable how we came out and the setup for that second half..

It was clueless. No other word for it..

just watched his after game comments...

Hey Brendan.. if you need someone to talk to the media after your team has put in a dire performance then let me now... i have heard your same comments so many times that i feel pretty sure i can fill in for you... and so can most of our support, though most of us at least would be/look angry with the performances by most of our players every week

Anderlecht away and Zenit at home last year? That's it.
