Why would you accept a bid for your best cb if you know you're getting * all for a new one, or at least not enough to replace what you're losing? Let's face it, Dembele, Armstrong, Roberts were all likely to leave in the summer and Boyata too, but with Armstrong and Roberts going and not being replaced maybe he had no confidence in the clubs ability to replace the others. Some of his signings have definitely been strange, but he identified our weaknesses in his first season here and fixed them on a relatively small budget. Since then other than Compper and Hendry, I wouldn't say his signings have been baffling. Everyone we have signed has been either for the future or to strengthen an area of weakness within the squad. It's not always going to work out in the markets we're shopping in or on our budget.

I'm not saying the bid should have been accepted I'm just using it as a point of the board backing him. Do you really think the board would have rejected a bid for a player with a year left on their contract if Lennon or Deila was in charge?

As we all know, Rodgers and ourselves have been massively let down by the board with regards to the shambolic transfer window. We’ve brought him in as the highest paid manager in Scottish football history yet failed to back him when it simply mattered the most in his time here so far.

We only signed one of his three targets, albeit he was already here, whilst selling/allowing some important players to leave. This was always going to leave us in a weaker position than when we entered the window. We’ve brought in Mulumbu who I think is a solid acquisition but isn’t the type of midifileder we needed and was a free agent all summer. We’ve brought in Arzani who does look a talent but isn’t ready and has been left out of our EL squad. Benkovic on a season long loan is another stop gap but does look good albeit he’s played one game. We’ve simply not replaced those we lost with the same quality.

On the other hand, as has been pointed out, he has brought in players that are seen as projects or are simply not good enough to be regular starters. We often here the ‘quality over quantity’ and ‘we don’t want to bring in anyone for the sake of it’ lines yet going by the transfers since he’s been here, it’s not the case. Of course every manager signs good and bad players but we are told this when the facts tell another story.

He has to shoulder the responsibility for this as well as Congerton who seems to be as incompetent as they come never mind our inept scouting network.

I'm sure most people would agree that the board didn't adequately back him in the summer. But in truth, when I look at Rodgers signings record for Celtic in it's entirety, I don't think it's all that impressive to be honest. I doubt he could spot a good defender if one walked up to him and poked him in the eye.

I hope & believe he can turn it around because I’m a Celtic supporter. :84:

Something similar was said earlier, but it’s very true, this could be another massive defining moment in our quest for 10 in a row.
    Until the next one.

Our club has big issues at present on and off the park. Something will need to give. It's not a happy camp. Everybody can see that. Regarding the current teams performances, they are a disgrace. To sum this up, Livingston players on no more than £500 per week sitting above us in the league. That stat alone puts this situation in perspective.

The way we're playing, we'll be lucky to register 6 shots never mind 6 goals.

Time for Brendan to abandon this 1 striker *. It doesn't work anymore. Griff and Eddy need to start up front together whenever they are both available and the squad rotation needs to stop. Get a settled consistent team.

    Griff Eddy

    Sinclair Brown Calmac Forrest

    Tierney Benkovic/Ajer Boyata Gamboa/New RB
    Gordon

This should be the base team & formation IMO.

I'd give Sinclair one last chance. It's easy to forget just how good he was. Of course, if he continues to go missing. Bench him and give Hayes a chance.

Christie & Hendrie aren't good enough. We need to stop buying the best players from bottom 6 teams. Ntchamn & Rogic need a spell on the bench. Lustig is finished.

If Brendan doesn't adapt, then I won't be fussed if he leaves. Whether we like it or not, the huns are better under Gerrard and the onus is on them to be consistent and exploit our inconsistency.

I'd much rather have Lennon in charge right now TBH. His team played great stuff, but also knew how to win ugly when required.

think you will find Lennon was a serial bottler in the cup competitions and to my mind Rodgers has yet to lose at Hampden.
Also a lot of football was turgid under Lennon , we have Rodgers who broke the record for goals scored in 2 different leagues.

At what other club would there be a reluctance to go get the players the manager wants especially after an invincible season then a double treble .then * are actively * about weakening the team
I know loads of people tried to downplay the importance of losing dembele, roberts and Armstrong with the, they hardly played last season chat without realising that is maybe why there was so many poor performances last season.as Rodgers has said the very least they had to do was replace the players going out yet they didn't even manage that.
The treble treble is going to be sweet as * and Rodgers is the only man for the job

They failed to deliver his targets summer was protracted then failure , then pulled the rug from under him with the dembele scenario to top it off at end of window.

Sure we still have strong enough squad to pish it but not the point and that will not be lost on Rodgers.

This is the problem we will have with Rodgers though, at what point do we say we have had enough if this continues? Most people will state how can you get rid of a manager that has won 6 trophies and went on an invincible run.

If he doesn't leave when is the stepping in point?

I like Rodgers but he has been a bit of an * since the Dembele *,playing tactics all wrong, stupid subs, not playing with 2 up front when needed etc etc.

He has to wrap this pish, yes most of us hate the board, but what is he trying to acomplish playing and setting them up like this? He's proven his point that we should have strengthened, but its to late now,so hopefully in January we will this time.

The players are a disgrace especially ntcham and edouard ,so they better get dropped along with sinc until they get this together and start playing for the club again.

Last chance saloon this week,if we get put out the cup then thats when the real trouble will start.

we know we bid 2.8m for McGinn and 5m for McKenna we can debate about quality of player or wether they would significantly improve us.

but it showed cash was available at least 8-10m we then got Mulumbu on a free and Benkovic(loan). and that was before we sold moussa for 20m bidding on players.
