    Absolutely love this.

Breandan is not shy about his love for the club. Maybe his tactics today were off the mark but the man has Celtic in his heart.

All he wants to do is to ensure we improve and he will take a lot away from today.

Now all we need is the board to open the cheque book and get players in to improve that defence.

Not sure a new winger would be high up the list I'd much rather defence sorted as I see that as a priority at the minute.

Has your man Arzani signed btw what's the deal with that? Was it mentioned after the match even?

We can dream. The board won't open anything until loose the league. The same thing happens with this board time and time again.

There may well be a falling out between the board and manager but that's to be expected. BR had similar experiences whilst at Liverpool in not being able to get targets over the line. Both parties are professional and no doubt after today he will be pushing the board even further to get the players in he wants.

I think at this stage it's more of a necessity than hope. Based on that today and AEK midweek we are certainly weaker than last year.

BR: "It was a close game. I feel we coped with the physicality very well. Craig’s teams are physical and they get up there early but I thought we coped with that well and played with a calmness in the first half where we creating one or two chances."

BR: "We started the second half really well. When you cope with that physicality, you don’t then expect to give the ball away so that was our disappointment. Under no pressure, we gave it away and they broke through."

BR: "We still had enough time to cause them problems but we never really effected the game in the final third of the pitch and we end up losing a really tight game.

BR: "Three games in seven days at this stages of the season is very tough, however it’s not an excuse. We have to be able to cope with that. That’s the challenges we have.

BR: "We freshened up the attacking element of the team. We made a change at centre-half with bringing in Jozo. If he’s going to play on Tuesday with Kris Ajer out, he needs some games having not played. We had enough freshness but we didn’t quite create anything

BR: "This is football. Sometimes it happens. We had good players on the field but we’re disappointed collectively that we didn’t quite get the result."

BR: "We had a very good performance in midweek but didn’t quite get the result here. One mistake cost us. It’s football, it doesn’t always go smoothly. You have to recover. We’ll be in tomorrow morning working and then get ready for a big challenge on Tuesday."

The ankh t of people saying he shouldn’t have played moussa or Ntcham etc etc against Livingston the league is a given, rest then for the champions league.

He does that extract thing and now everyone is up in arms about resting players. Dammed if you do dammed if you don’t. There’s no pleasing folk

It was a typical European hangover performance, which isn’t a good sign considering half the team was changed.

The fringe players need to come in wanting to impress and put in the effort.

    *Two mistakes

Lustig's inability to stop the cross come in and Ajer not attacking the cross. Both completely symptomatic of what we've sign time and time again with this team.

Hearts are a far superior team to Livingston, nobody minds a couple of changes but he changed half the side.

As has been said, full strength against Livi...half strength away at Hearts. Because logic.

Too many changes. It was always going to be tough even with full strength.

And for all the lack of backing from the board, Rodgers has had two years to sort out the defence and he still hasn’t done it.

We still have the quality to beat them. Your talking about bringing in our top scorer from a couple of seasons ago, a £3million midfielder, a winger that Hearts would never have been able to afford to buy and Jozo

Last season showed that changing the side really doesn't make that much of a difference in europe, we end up just playing * domestically and then barring anderlecht and zenit at home we get beat in europe, we should play the strongest 11 until the games won then make subs. Our bench was strong in Rodgers first season but it isn't anymore, fringe players aren't good enough to be playing at tynecastle of all places.

The frustrations and dismay coming from the supporters is the shear lack of investment to improve the team. It is always the same, we never improve when we are in a position of strength. We have not brought anybody in that has improved the squad let alone the team. Development players have come in and Eddy was already here. Armstrong, Roberts, Eric all going has made us weaker. The squad needs freshend and strengthened with quality players, it was showing towards the end of last season. Last season was difficult to emulate the season before but they did it with back to back treble, it wasn't pretty at times but did it. Brendan had us looking sharp in pre season , prob The best we have looked in pre season for a while but he can only do so much with the players he has. Today's team selection was all about getting ready for Tuesday, lost today but can easily make that up. I think maybe the board has told him funds will be made available if we get through to CL, failing then he has to work with what he has. His tone and body language post match interview was very down beat born with frustration, the very same frustration he shares with us.

Got it wrong today big style, both tactics and team selection. Hayes, Kouassi, Hendry are not good enough and you can probably stick Simunovic and Lustig in there too with their current form. We didn't play enough football on the deck either, i know it's hard against hammer-throwers like Hearts but you have to at least try. We got sucked into their kick and rush, long-ball crap and it played right into their hands. Should have left Griff on too, apart from the fact we needed a goal he was one of the few who looked up for the fight.
