So Rodgers comes out and basically says he is going nowhere then Desmond wants to get his face on tv and says he wouldn’t stand in the way. Away back to your golfing Desmond, anything for a bit of publicity.

Not to mention Rodgers is only 45 which is very young for a manager, he has the chance to make history and build a legacy here at the club he supports which is exactly what he wants to do.

He’s reshaping the club from bottom up, its a long term project and fully expect him to be here for 10 in a row. He didn’t take this job for domestic dominance, he took it to take us forward in Europe which is a long road.

Arsenal fans won't want him, so their board would be silly to further disappoint them when this is their chance to get them back onside, by going for Brendan.
While we can all see his qualities first hand, and how he'd actually be a good fit for them, he would be under pressure from the off from the goons. I mean look at how mental they go at their greatest ever manager. They wouldn't give BR 5 matches before they called for his head.

The man is staying at home :brendy:

I don't think BR will take the Arsenal job. Too much interference from Kroenke et al. He has a total say in all things football with Celtic plus he loves the club. Charlie knickerless is a soup taking *. Ignore him and the other SMSM trash. Brendan is going NOWHERE!!

    Not a chance he’s going.

    He’ll leave after 10.

To be fair to Desmond, he’s correct. Holding Brendan hostage to his contract (or Dembele or anyone else for that matter) wouldn’t be the answer. Equally though, I’ve no doubt that’s Desmond is fully confident that Rodgers has absolutely no intention of leaving.

We all know Rodgers could leave for the Premiership any time he wants. However at Celtic he has stability. Arsenal will want success and if he got the same results Wenger got then Arsenal would sack him. Rodgers will leave eventually, we all know that but not many Managers get to be in a stable position with lots of power over who is recruited, he does. Celtic pay him well, not as much as Arsenal would but he is still a very wealthy man.
I will say though, if he decides to leave I will bare no grudge. He took the players around him when he arrived such as Forrest, Armstrong, Tierney, Ajer and McGreggor and had them all play better than they had previously. He has added young strength such as Dembele, Edouard, Ntcham and Hendry to the team and made it a force.

I am sorry, but if you sign a contract, and you enjoy the security that the contract provides, then you had better have signed it in good faith, with the intention of seeing it out.

If Dembélé had suffered a career-ending injury last week, do you think he would have rescinded his contract?

If people wish to move on before their contracts expire, it has to be right for Celtic first and foremost.

Brendan isnt daft he got his fingers burnt at Liverpool, he has said many times he is happy here, Charlotte is happy here and just yesterday he said he has much more he wants to do here! Saying that Celtic would be very well compensated should Arsenal or any other team make an approach he still has 3 years left on a £50k a week contract! Would surprise me if celtic would be looking for a few million to let him speak to them probably around a years fee £2.6m which is chicken feed to these teams but time will tell, not worried as things stand as i feel there is many different coaches ahead of Brendan!

was saying celtic will be well compensated, obviously finance comes into it for some but dont feel brendan is like that at all, he loves the prestige of managing celtic and he knows he is idolised!

No club would pay what hes worth to us. There must be atleast a 70million revenue difference in his 2 years and Ronnys 2?

Hope to * he doesn’t go and tbh I think Arsenal will be looking at other names first, but IF he was to go the only man we should look to get in is Eddie Howe

Sky eventually played the clip from DD - some one clearly on his doorstep every morning waiting to get a sound
Would they not need to pay his contract out from us though? so nearer the £7m to buy him from us? Or would that just be the extreme nature of a manager basically forcing his way out and paying a contract off?
