Oh, so PSG had a dip in form after they played us?

    That's really helpful.

Fact is both GS and Neil Lennon did better than him with arguably worse teams. He needs to find a way to get better results in Europe as good as we’ve been domestically losing three games at home in Europe isn’t acceptable.

Its only helpful to highlight the fact that you clearly know * all!

Our performances are down on last years, no question. I think 90% of people on here agree and hence said Rodgers needs backed in January, I think most would agree and yet you're having a meltdown. Each to their own but take it elsewhere away from me pls.

What is the excuse now, financial gap? players tired? if this was under Deila or Lennon people would be asking questions,(we wouldn't even be in champions league under Deila) but some of our support think mr Rodgers is untouchable. Only excuse I can think of was the atmosphere was dead from the get go from what it usually is like in Europe and that translated onto the pitch. Look, we have an easy excuse when we get beat by the big boys in Europe but * Anderlecht, get a grip. Hopefully in the transfer window we can clear out the whole defence and get a goalkeeper who we can rely on in Europe and get rid of players who don't want to be here.

For me we have arrived at the crossroad....Do the Board play safe and let Brendan buy at a level to stay dominant domestically, hoping that BR can eventually develop said players to compete in Europe or Act now and invest heavily in the next level of players(transfer money required ???)needed to compete for European runs.

The big question......Are we happy to stay dominant in Scotland and go for the ten in a row or do we take a gamble to our finances with heavy investment to be a force in Europe:39:???

In fairness, idon't think the board are dictating much in this regard, they were willing to spend 8 million on roberts and extra million or so on a defender, and a clause to buy edouard. this suggests to me we have over 10 million to spend, probably more now, however rodgers ended up not spending it.

I don't think this changes much, we wont gamble on future champions league, but will spend what we already have.

Don't trust the board to back him unfortunately.. Hard to do business in the middle of the season etc etc

The players looked terrified on the ball now but weve also managed to progress from last year when we went at man city with absolutely no fear and matched them?

Dont think that works. Weve regressed

The Bayern Munich game at home is the most comfortable that I’ve ever seen us on the ball against a very top team.

It’s hard to gauge where we are in European terms under Rodgers a) because of the opposition we’ve faced (arguably 4 of the best 6 teams in the world) and b) because our performances have been so inconsistent (we went toe-to-toe with Manchester City and Bayern Munich and had good results away against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Anderlecht, but we were thrashed by Barcelona and Paris Saint-German and had poor results at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach and Anderlecht).

There’re different ways to measure progress.

We took 3 points against Anderlecht in Brussels with an impressive 3-0 win - that’s progress in terms of results, but I would much rather see us play at the level we played at against Bayern Munich in Glasgow, even though we lost on the night.

Honestly, I don’t know if we’ve progressed this season, but there’s still European football to be played.

I think too maany of our players are starting to believe their own hype.

We have stopped smashing teams in the domestic league ( with the exception of the odd game or half a game ). My own opinion is that we play far too many passes across the back and use Gordon far too often,, lets face it he is not a keeper that is acting as an extra player.. just a keeper struggling to clear his lines most of the time

All the messing about at the back allows other teams to regroup, get their shape back etc.. A few players are 100% under performing, Armstrong being the chief culprit. Rogic can do so much better and Sinky's been under par

Defence is a worry, we very rarely look secure - i reckon any decent striker fancies his chances against them..a nd i'm talking about decent domestic strikers. We have 3 teams within single figures of us and though i dont expect any to overtake us i can see other fans looking at us and thinking we are Over-hyped..

I'm finding it hard to disagree with them

There’s very little to complain about on the domestic front. We’ve just won our 4th consecutive honour and we’re on a run of 67 games without defeat. And we almost always play our best football after the turn of the year.

Yes we did and i thought it was a case of both progress and we had taken advantage of anderlechts form at the time. Something we usually fail to do in europe.

But after tonight when we had the chance to show that really was progress and deliver another good euro performance against a team on our level we didnt turn up at all so i now think it was more getting anderlecht at the right time as opposed to progress.

We didnt have that luck last year. Last year we got three good draws , outclassed completely in 2 and a decent performance against barca at home. I thought it was a good campaign last year. A very strong foundation to build on with some fixable problems.

Personally mate ive no doubt we havent progressed in europe. Same problems as last year are there to be adressed for next year.

Id be confident in the europa if we could get back to that performance level never mind better it

I suppose that’s true, mate. Hopefully, we’ll see some new faces in January.

BR needs properly backed in Jan.. with a GK and CB who can pass under pressure and make the right decisions with the ball at their feet. The GK also needs to be as good as shot stopping as Gordon and the CB needs to be as good as defending as Boyata..

Not easy to find and will cost cash..

Also with Paddy's injury we are totally reliant on Forrest, who has been excellent. This is an area that needs strengthened. Hayes is showing good signs domestically and we have young talent too, but for next season and the rest of this one, we need to add real class at LW/RW, in Jan..

Give him money to spend, sell a few to make it happen if necessary. The fact that only Dembele and Sinclair who started last night are his signings is mental.

Would sell Erik, Stu, and any other(s) who don't want to be here. Get in some decent prospects who want European level football and a top drawer manager.
