Future generations will look back and say .......................* * just look at the Brendan Rodgers era, the team hardly lost a domestic game.

He's made the players better, fitter, gave them better game intelligence, the ability to show composure under pressure and not panic, a style of football that is a pleasure to watch.

Our 4th goal today had Brendan's stamp all over it, a couple of quality signings in January and i think we could be looking at another humdinger of a season. :yeah:

BRENDAN RODGERS arrived at Celtic in May 2016 with great expectations.

But never in his wildest dreams did the Hoops boss think his new team would go 63 domestic games unbeaten.

Celtic shattered their own British record – created by Willie Maley’s side in 1917 – with a 4-0 demolition of St Johnstone.

Rodgers has been in charge for 62 of those 63 games – which includes 56 wins and seven draws.

And after his 400th game as a manager, he hailed his “special” group of players for their incredible consistency.

He said: “I remember getting the champagne when we beat the previous Celtic record of 26 games unbeaten.

“I looked at it in my office and though ‘What an achievement that is by the team’.

“I was given one for 63 after St Johnstone – it’s a truly remarkable achievement and the squad deserve all the credit they get.

“It’s virtually the same squad of players I inherited, with a little sprinkling of others.

“To show that level of professionalism and mentality is a real testament to their work.

“Could I imagine us going 63 unbeaten games at the start? Not really.

“But it was something I never really thought about – it was always the next game.

“That’s my motto as football is a very difficult game to forecast.

“But that was my 400th game as a manager and I’ve learned to just focus on my next game.

“That’s what we do. The players are in that mindset as well but you could never have said coming in here that we would do this.

“Going back to that team Willie Maley had, people of my age will be aware of guys like Patsy Gallacher.

“That was a great team with great players, who achieved so much.

“For us to go beyond them and make it 63 games unbeaten is a special feeling. I could never have imagined that.

“It is no mean feat – in modern sport and football especially.

“The players have had to face everything – going behind in games and playing in big semi-finals and finals.

“We have been tired in games, they have played on different surfaces. Everything has been thrown at them.

“But they have set a mentality and standard every day in training and really taken that on to the pitch.

“The squad has evolved from a tactical perspective.

“When I arrived, I was keen to work with the boys who were there. That’s always been my way.

“You can either come in and have an overhaul and not give the players there a chance, or not.

“I knew how I worked would be slightly different for the Scottish boys, so could they take on board the concept and could we develop them?

“We needed a a bit more speed in the team, a bit more power, but in the main the core group has stayed exactly the same and they’re developing and improving all the time.”

Rodgers laughed when he was told that Steaua Bucharest hold the European record for 104 domestic games unbeaten.

He wouldn’t entertain any talk of hitting that landmark – but is convinced there will be no complacency.

He said: “It’s very simple. You need to be allergic to complacency.

“I said that on the first day and we have dedicated our life to it – and that excellence of always looking to be better,

“This won’t affect them in any way. It’s important that they celebrate it.

“Any high-performing sports team, they have to celebrate – but they also know the levels we set every day.

“But this is a group that likes each other. They communicate and they were very comfortable on a difficult pitch.

“They were good on the technical side and scored some great goals.

“But complacency is something we have trained to avoid. It’s my job as the leader to ensure that.

“It’s important players have goals and targets to achieve.

“This was never a destination for us today.

“We wanted to achieve it of course, but we have to keep moving forward.

“This cycle we’re in, we want to really dominate.

“I sad when I came in, we’re winning titles, playing an aggressive attacking style and the players are doing that.

“But we won’t get carried away. It’s a great achievement but there’s a lot of work to do for us.”

Celtic were too good for Saints at McDiarmid Park – with Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele, Olivier Ntcham and a Steven Anderson OG doing the business.

Rodgers fielded the same team that faced Bayern Munich and is happy to be leading the Premiership ahead of a two-week break.

He said: “The three points was important as going into the first international break of the season, we weren’t first.

“We were second and I didn’t like looking at the table for two weeks.

“The confidence was high on the team and we had that extra day to recover.

“I felt we could start with the same 11 but that was never going to be the team that finished the game.

“It was a really good performance, on top of everything else that goes with that.

    “Our quality came through.

“It was important that we won and it was important to play with a speed and intensity in the game.

“I congratulated them on that and achieving what they have done.”

Incredible to think that in brendans time here , there still hasn't been one manager who has been able to get the better of him.

I don't think they quite understand, we don't have a manger who is using us as a stepping stone to get any job in the EPL, Brendan is here for the long term, he's already said it on numerous occasions.

Some record for Brendan 56 wins 7 draws, if you look at the draw s, 2-2 Inverness, next game we pump them 6-0 in Scottish cup, 1-1 sevco, next game s destroy them in cup then pump them 5-1, partick thistle 1-1, next game destroyed them 5-0 at firhill, st Johnstone 1-1, pump them 4-0 at Perth and to a lesser extent 2-2 hibs then beat then 4-2 in cup, he totally sees where it went wrong in the draws and rectify s it big style next game against same opponents
Beware Ross county in 2 weeks

Brendan Rodgers ‘last 12 months most enjoyable period of my life’

It’s not just about winning here, it’s winning in a certain way

the commercial team do a great job maximising revenue to help us put the best team on the park

BR: in modern football you have a six weeks cycle as manager’

BR - if you go back to your office and dwell on your successes you’ll fall into the trap of complacency If you dwell on the past you’ll quickly find yourself in the wrong movie

BR - The supporters are everything. It’s why we do it, it’s why we’re here

Brendan on centre half issue - Not too many Toure’s about. It’s a challenge to bring in. Do you bring in a young talent? We need to sign a centre half. We have great centre half’s but they need to be available #ticagm Nir Bitton has been brilliant for me

BR - People have been watching Nir with confirmation bias. He’s been great
We want to develop the club and squad and looking to do that

Brendan Rodgers was asked if he was here for 10-in-a-row – the most popular question he’s asked, the Celtic manager admitted – and he explained that he has never been happier in his professional and personal life, and that he and his team want to continue the great legacy and history of Celtic. To do that, he said, the team need to keep winning.

Peter Lawwell on Brendan Rodgers: “He’s an outstanding manager, an outstanding coach. He is a Celtic man and he carries those Celtic values and standards.

“At this moment, I don’t think there’s anyone else I’d rather have in world football as the manager of Celtic.”
