Those days are what he’s aiming for though, just regularly and with a team that plays attacking possession based football. Might be a pipe dream but why not give it a bash.

We’re only a year and a bit into the Rodgers journey, Europa League football in 2018 will be another rung up the ladder for this Club.

    Fair point.

You're right about us playing against mid level European teams. We are definitely more comfortable against them than we have been in years.

Was saying the same to my brother over there. This is progress, but inevitably we're gonna get pumped along the way. 2 qualifications out of 2. No wins and bottom last year and we've already beaten that this year and broke untold horrific record's away from home and are likely to get 3rd, pretty much nailed on..

He definitely does make mistakes and isn't perfect but he's as close as we'll ever find to it. Tonight was another harsh lesson but we will keep improving..

The big problem is playing the dross we do and having to go away to Bayern, Psg etc. That's a bridge that's always gonna be harder, especially as our league get's left behind..

I’m going to say it, we’re never going to get close to these super teams ever again with his tactics. The fact that Lennon and Strachan gave these kind of teams a game shows how arrogant his “we don’t need to change our style of play” comments are. We absolutely do. What I wouldn’t give for another Wanyama and Boruc.

He made a good point about the schedule we have with a team full of internationals and European Football and we face Hibs on Saturday with an early kick off while Sevco and Motherwell about 1-2 internationals between the two of them with no European Football gets the Sunday fixture. Makes no sense logically!

Can someone please tell him to look at iceland knocking out England look at iceland qualifying for world cup and look at apoel drawing with dort mind before he cones out with statements like that. I do t expect us to win but I do at least expect us to compete and be respectable vast majority of our fans are not stupid and Do not have stupid expectations one thing a do know is our budget is bigger than the cypriots

It wasn't who he selected was the big issue yes selection if defence could have been better but the three players of ntcham brown and Armstrong did not work at all fact he brought on rogic made a big difference their was no need for three midfeild players to be so flat and deep coz all they did when I possession was lose it before they were even In their half

Sounds harsh but I can see his time here ending like Walter Smith at rangers achieved domestic success but ultimately made no progress European wise and was shunted ..... I do not think we are better than last year were very unlucky to not get third so Yeh very much the same

Smith got the huns to a uefa cup final we'd all be delighted if Rodgers done the same.

Dunno, in hindsight there are definite things he can change: Armstrong for Rogic or McGregor, for example, or Moussa for LG*; but this is definitely progress.

Personally I don't think losing 5-0 at home to anyone is ever acceptable; but 3-0 away to Bayern Munich is just one of those things that happens to bigger teams than us. Learning curve for all concerned. I don't think Rogers will change his philosophy, not would I want him to; but I'm sure he learned a ton last night too.

At some point it would be nice to play one of these teams with 2 fit CB's, though. The one game we had that our defence looked a totally different animal.

    * I think he proved in the last game that he is good enough for this level; but equally clearly he can't operate as an isolated striker with no support.

My only gripe with BR is not reinforcing the defence in the summer. It was painfully obvious we had to and i think he got too cocky thinking we had enough cover in that department.Other than that not put a step wrong.

Wait till we get into the Europa league in February and it'll make playing the way we did tonight worth it

Let's face it. It was 3 going on 7 last night. At HT would have bitten your hand off for 3-0...

Was it a surprise we lost 3-0 and the gulf was evident? No..

Was it a surprise we tried to play the same front 6 as we did v PSG? Absolutely...

That shows arrogance and lack of learning.

Still we move on with the best manager we've had since MON..

His style of football has been brilliant - as entertaining as it is successful. We've swept aside domestic opponents and our opponents in the qualifiers with relative ease since Rodgers arrived. And we've done it his way.

His way has brought results like 5-2 against Be'er Sheva, 5-0 over Astana and the recent 0-3 win in Belgium. These are teams who, in recent years, have been around our level.

Would a touch more pragmatism against the top teams really kill him? Would it really destroy his philosophy or go against his principles?

I'd give BR another crack at the CL next season but if he doesn't learn to compete we should look elsewhere.

This is his only problem he wont play ugly im half with his point at playing the way we play but the thing is we didnt last night so the points irrelivent. The other half im against it id rather see progression and points even if it means getting a point or three doing it the ugly way dont get me wrong doing it doesnt mean we will succeed in getting something from it but the losing goals could possibly be kept down

We despretley need a wanyama type in the middle of the park and the team to bulk up. It happens here in games aswell teams seem to push us about hibs was a fine example second half they absoloutley bullied us

I think we have been rotten performance wise all season and im being serious cant remember the last time we played a full 90 with a great performance. This isnt knee * aye we score 3 4 goals against teams but never felt like we played well except in maybe a second half
