Can't believe there are people complaining about his team selections. Absolutely embarrassing.

He starts Boyata, folk complain. He scores the winner and puts in a motm performance.

His selection of Forrest over Roberts is baffling folk but bringing Roberts on later in the game seems to be paying off.

Dembele. The guy is one of Europes hottest prospects. Sure he won't score in every game but he has more to his game than goals, which at times is just as important.

We've dropped 2 points in 21 games... how can you complain ?

Do people expect us to go out and win 4 or 5-0 every game ? We've played an unreal amount if matches already this season, of course it will catch up on the players.

    Baffled by it.

BR on potential transfer action: "We’d like to do something. There are areas I’d like to strengthen and if it can happen, great."

BR: "But if it’s not the right player or they’re not available then we’ll just have to wait until the summer."

BR on past deadline days: "If I’ve ever done business before then it’s normally done pretty early."

BR: "January, in my past history, has normally been a pretty good month."

BR: "I’ve either brought players in and if they weren’t available, we didn’t."

BR: "In the main, it’s a good month but it’s always about the quality and if you can get the quality in, great."

BR: "There are one or two players who want game time and probably would need to play "

BR: "But we haven’t had anything through so there might be some activity in and out but we’ll see how it goes."

The manager was then asked about the prospect of eclipsing the Lisbon Lions' 26-game unbeaten domestic run on Sunday.

BR: "The players have shown an incredible appetite and desire to go 26 games unbeaten."

BR: "Our main objective for the game is to get three points."

BR: "We want to keep pushing, keep striving to be the best we can be and it’s another home game for us."

BRENDAN Rodgers doesn’t expect a deadline day dash to get players in at the end of January and is content to wait for the right time to do any further transfer business on his own watch.

Eboue Kouassi has been Celtic's sole recruit during the winter window while Ryan Christie has left the club on loan for six months to join Aberdeen in search of regular first-team action.

The manager said there is potential for further movement in and out the club, but ahead of the visit of Hearts on Sunday he added that there is no pressure for the Scottish champions to jump into action either way.

“There’s lots of speculation but I’ll always do things in private,” he said. “We’d like to do something. There are areas of the squad I’d like to strengthen and if it can happen, great, but if it’s not the right player or they’re not available, then we’ll just have to wait until the summer.

“If I’ve ever done business before then it’s normally done pretty early. January, in my past history, has normally been a pretty good month. I’ve either brought players in and if they weren’t available, we didn’t.

“At Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge came in and were great signings and have been brilliant there. At Swansea we brought in really good players at the time we needed it. Going back to Watford, my very first job as manager, we brought players back and I never made January at Reading because I got the sack in the December!

“In the main, it’s a good month but it’s always about the quality, and if you can get the quality in, great. But we never sign them just for stock-piling the squad.”

Brendan Rodgers had a winter wish list of signings intended to prime Celtic for Champions League qualifying, with new boys settling in midway through this season and well in advance of the critical summer series of games.

The Celtic manager admitted that he is unlikely to have completed that mission to his satisfaction by the time the window shuts on Tuesday night.

'It won't be as I want it, I don't think, by the end of the window,' said Rodgers. 'If we don't get the players that I would want through not being available, then okay.

'I'm happy with the players in the squad. I'll just have to wait until the summer in order to do the next bit. It's through no fault of the club.

'This window is always tough. I won't just bring in anyone. It has to be a player who' s going to improve our squad. If that isn't available, for whatever reason, then there's not much you can do.

'It's not Football Manager on the computer, where you just pull them out and transfer them. It's a wee bit more than that. So if it doesn't happen, okay.

'I'd want it to but if it doesn't, we just have to wait and be patient.'

Sunday's home game against Hearts will come too soon for £2.5million Ivorian midfield signing Eboue Kouassi.

'He needs some time to adjust,' said Rodgers. 'He's out training, doing light work.

'He needs time over the next couple of weeks.'

From reading that piece and paper apparently saying our 2nd bid for the Boy in Belgium knocked back I would maybe think our only incoming will be Kouassi, have to say not too fussed about lack of incomings but the red top rag did have a Motherwell business man a billionaire

Brendan might also be saying to teams you're not going to call my bluff. Teams like to try and up the price as the window approaches closure because if a manager really wants a player he'll up the price.

Like Dalglish offered Newcastle £30m for Carroll on the 31st January and they said no so the same day he said £35m and they said ok :56: Bonkers. Lucky he signed Suarez.

BR: "It's a huge honour and a brilliant thing considering the history of the club."

BR: "It was an outstanding team performance and we defended forward. We played with high pressure."

BR: "Our ability to defend forward created lots of chances for us."

BR on Moussa Dembele: "He's had a knock on his knee so it wasn't worth the risk."

BR on Kieran Tierney: "He was brilliant. Two assists and just back. There were lots of really good performers."

BR: "Gamboa was very good, Nir Bitton was outstanding in midfield and young Callum came in with 10 minutes notice."

BR on unbeaten run: "Our idea is to keep going. I try to focus on what you can control which is training and games."

BR: "The players will tell you I've not spoken about it as there's enough pressure. It's an incredible achievement."

BR on transfer window: "I wanted to do some business but this group are producing great performances."

BR on Kris Commons: "He's had a back issue this week. It's between the clubs and Kris."

BR on Armstrong and Griffiths: "Armstrong was tight in his hamstring. He had this in December and had some rest."

BR: "There was no need to risk it. Griffiths has struggled for a while now and needs to get fit."

BR: "He needs to get his body right and that's what he'll do."

BR on 27 games unbeaten run: "It's an incredible run the players are on and every accolade they get they deserve."

BR: "We're very proud but the challenge is to keep winning and that comes from our work and our concentration."
