    I liked the guy.

Always felt that if he had committed and we'd signed him, he'd have flourished. 15 goals and 12 assists in your first season in full time football for about 2 year isn't bad. Especially considering he was poor for large periods of the season and Griff stepped in.

He's a bit of a * in some folk's eyes but he was our *, as you said.

I was all for signing him permanently after the loan, but I just can't see how he'd fit in now

For me, his love for the club slightly outweighed his selfishness. I'd love to have him back, remember jumping out of my seat when we got him.

His love for the club? :eek1:
The guy that sat there in a Celtic T-shirt saying how he hoped Feyenoord had a place for him?

Yeah, so, I was joking about this but it appears he did offer us his services and we declined :56:

His early days slightly outweighed his controversy imo. I think he did just enough on the pitch, and showed enough love to the fans that he can be given a pass for his cuntiness near the end.

Wouldn't of maybe been a bad thing to have had him about for the likes of Dembele..

Like Kolo with the defence, albeit more temporary..

Brendan Rodgers speaking to the media after his team equalled the Lisbon Lions' 26-game unbeaten run from 1966-67

BR: "If you had mentioned it when I first came in to supporters or the players, they might not have believed it. A huge honour.”

BR: "Huge testament to the players and how they work on a day-to-day basis, along with their professionalism."

BR: "I didn't mention it so much before the game as you have to do your job, work well and get the result.

BR: "50 years since it was set and think of all the great managers and players who have been at the club, shows you difficult it is."

BR on Dedryck Boyata: "A player who has worked very well in training, just been unfortunate as the team has been doing very well."

BR: "He was ready to take his chance when Erik was injured, and I have been really impressed."

BR: "He was excellent again tonight. He has qualities I like and he scored a great goal to win it."

BR of reported interest in Craig Gordon: "Heard something before the game. Not surprised."

BR: "It's another demonstration of where this team is at, level they are performing at and the qualities they are showing."

BR: "It's a bit testament to him and the team, but Craig is very much a part of what I'm doing here.

BR: "He has really consolidated the game model we want to play, 34 & he can go on for a number of years yet & be pillar of the team."

BR: "He's in a good place. He knows this is a huge club & he's very much part of what we are trying to build here."

Well done Brendan and the Bhoys. 26 wins is not too shabby. So proud of this team and always proud to be a Celt. Brendan has come in and moulded these group of guys into a team who rely on each other, that sparks of the confidence and energy into displays like we saw tonight. They trust each other on the pitch and it shows. Such a joy to watch. I hope this team grows and matures together for many years, just a few additions here and there when needed. The Bhoys in this squad will go into the Celtic history books but I want them to go on and smash the record. No disrespect to the Lions. So well done to every member of the squad who have achieved these 26 wins and every man has his part to play. BR being questioned on Boyata selection. Well there you go. As Jimmy Greaves used to say "Footballs a funny old game."

Is Brendan the second coming? He's worked a handful of miracles already and he's been here no time at all. Been a while since I read the bible but don't recall Jesus getting off the blocks as quickly as this.

In all seriousness it's remarkable the job he has done.
    Armstrong
    Forrest
    Brown
    Jozo
    Rogic

All look twice the player they were last season.
Starting to see others shine now they have got their chance to prove themselves. In fact they all look eager to impress, they all look sharp and focused.
The team as a whole look almost like a family. Total respect and admiration for each other.
The new signings have all slotted right in. No Egos, just graft and determination to develop and get results.
I haven't had a negative thought about Celtic since Brendan's been here. This is working wonders for my own outlook on life and all. Big smile on my face after every game that lasts all the way through until the next.

2 famous quotes from him below. Clear to see this ethos working already. Gets the very best out of all his squad, if your not on board your out.
The second quote speaks for itself.

"I use a quote with the players, "Per aspera ad astra", which is Latin for "through adversity to the stars"

He also told the cameras: "Every player I see as my own son".

BRENDAN Rodgers says it’s an honour to have matched the Lisbon Lions’ 26-game unbeaten run in the 1966-67 season following tonight’s 1-0 victory over St Johnstone.

The Hoops saw off the stubborn Saints thanks to Dedryck Boyata’s second-half header, a result that stretched their lead at the top of the table to 22 points.

And the manager heaped praise on his players for achieving such a tremendous milestone on the night captain Scott Brown made his 400th appearance for the club.

Speaking after the game, he said: “If you had mentioned it six months ago when I first came in either to supporters or the players themselves, they might not have believed it. It’s a huge honour.”

“I didn’t mention it so much before the game as it’s talked about a lot and you have to do the job, work well and get the result.

“It’s a huge testament to the players - how well they have worked on a day-to-day basis, how committed they have been to what we have been trying to do, and their professionalism.

“If you think 50 years have passed since it was set and all the great players and managers who have been at the football club since then, it shows how you difficult it is to achieve. For this group of players, who are at the very beginning of their journey to do it is a real testament to them, so a big congratulations to them.”

Having impressed in only his second outing of the season in Sunday’s Scottish Cup victory over Albion Rovers, Boyata kept his place in the team for the league visit of the Perth side.

And the big defender capped off another assured display with the winning goal, powering a header home from Stuart Armstrong’s corner with 17 minutes left on the clock.

“He’s a player who has worked very well in training,” said the Hoops boss. “He has just been unfortunate as the team has been doing very well.

"I know he played a lot last season and has hardly played at all, but he was ready to take his chance whenever Erik was injured, and I have been very impressed. He was excellent again tonight. He has qualities I like, and he scored a great goal to win it.”

Now making Boyata look composed and an allround centre half.

    Yuup, he's definitely Jesus.
