I actually find some of his stuff really funny, still laugh out loud at "Oh my word, its wee Joe".
But that one is pish, ok we get it the League cup is a diddy cup, talk about repeating the same joke over and over christ.

I in no way view the League Cup as a diddy cup by the way.

I suppose that's one of the drawbacks when you actually give an opinion on something, could turn out to be wrong and come back to haunt you. :84:

BR on upcoming games: "Good opportunity to accumulate points and we’ve got a good squad that we’ll need."

BR: "Every coach would say it’s a tough ask to play that many games but you have to deal with it."

BR: "I’ve got a number of boys who’ve been brilliant in training every day but haven't been able to play."

BR: "Gary Mackay-Steven is up to speed and I’m looking forward to seeing him play."

BR: "James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Patrick Roberts have been playing well so it was difficult to get a chance.

BR: "Him, Ryan Christie, Liam Henderson, Gamboa, all working hard but haven’t had a lot of game time."

BR: "But they are so important. For us to be at our best, the players who aren’t playing need to be at their best."

BR on @MotherwellFC: "They’ll be disappointed in their results and they’ll be looking forward to a home game."

BR: "The last game was tough for us but we have to make sure our concentration is right."

BR on @Scotty_Sinclair injury: "It’s probably going to be a couple of weeks. He’s jogging but not sprinting."

BR on Mikael Lustig: "He’s a player I really want to keep here. He’s very important to what I’m doing."

BR: "He’s very consistent, a top class pro, trains every day, multi-functional and one I want to keep."

CELTIC’S overflowing pot of fixtures in December may be daunting to some managers but Brendan Rodgers sees the run of nine games in four weeks as an excellent opportunity for his team to keep picking up points.

The champions are eight points clear at the top of the table with three games in hand over second-placed Hearts but face a demanding schedule of games leading up to Christmas with eight league fixtures and their remaining UEFA Champions League group-stage match.

The Celts have been in imperious form domestically this season, and powered through Aberdeen to lift the Scottish League Cup on Sunday, inflicting a third defeat this season on the team who were their closest challengers last term.

“When you think of the number of games you play over the course of the season, to have eight league and one European game...it is a brilliant opportunity for us to accumulate more points,” the Celtic manager said ahead of Saturday’s lunchtime trip to Motherwell, which kicks off the run of matches.

“There are tough games for us every two to three days playing but we’ve got a good squad and they’ll all be needed. That’s why it’s important to ensure that the squad feels a part of what we’re doing because we’ll need it over this December period.

“Every coach would say it’s a tough ask to play that many games in that period of time but if that’s what is presented to you then you have to deal with it. We’ve got a backlog of some games and have our final Champions League game to play but we won’t moan, we just deal with it, get on with it, and it will provide us with the opportunity to work our squad and all the players will be ready and fit to play.”

Celtic’s emphatic start to the season has seen the likes of Scott Sinclair – a summer recruit – James Forrest and Tom Rogic, who were used more on the periphery last season, in impressive form.

Their resurgent start to life under Brendan Rodgers at Paradise has forced other players to wait patiently in line, with stars such as Gary Mackay-Steven yet to make an appearance this season after recovering from injury over the summer.

The fixture schedule for December, however, will give those players a chance to show the manager what they can do as the champions play every three days.

“I’ve got a number of boys who’ve been brilliant in training every single day,” the manager added. “Gary Mackay-Steven is up to speed in terms of his fitness and I’m actually looking forward to seeing Gary play.

“It has been very difficult for him because he missed out over the course of pre-season, and by the time he was coming back the team was already up and running and James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Patrick Roberts were playing well so it was difficult for him to get a chance.

“He’s still finding fitness but him, Ryan Christie, Liam Henderson, Cristian Gamboa, Dedryck Boyata are all guys who have been working hard who haven’t had a lot of game time, but they are so important to what we’re doing here as a squad because for us to be at our best, the players who aren’t playing need to be at their best every day because that’s what improves you as a player.

“They will be critical for us at this period and I’m sure they’re going to get some game-time.”

MAINTAINING focus will not be an issue for the Celtic players over the coming weeks, according to Brendan Rodgers, as they all have their eyes focused on the end prize – the SPFL Premiership title.

The Hoops scooped the Scottish League Cup last Sunday, while their league form has propelled them to an eight-point lead at the summit of the top table in Scotland.

Additional success was previously achieved in the summer when the Bhoys qualified for the UEFA Champions League at the first time of asking under their new manager, but the Irishman said there is no threat of his team taking the foot off the gas.

“It’s only 12 games in to the league,” he said. “We’ve played well and are looking strong, but it's only 12 games so it’d be ridiculous to say that (the league is won) because you just never know.

“We can only focus on ourselves. We have to ensure the development of our individual players - they have a plan in order to improve, then collectively we can co-ordinate the team and keep them moving forward and it’s my job, along with the staff, to ensure the intensity and that hunger is there for the players, and it will be because we set out goals for the season, not for the first six months.

“We’ve achieved two of those, which is great, and we’ve been able to do that because of the mentality, the focus, the concentration and how hard the players have worked so we need to keep pushing, keep improving our standards on the field, keep improving the club off the field and, combining it all with the great staff at the club, we can keep this club moving forward, not just now, but for over the next few years.”

Maintaining the ultimate goal of winning the league will continue to serve as a motivator for the Celts with their day-to-day training at Lennoxtown and through a packed run of nine games in December, but the manager is a proponent of also simply focusing on the present as a way to achieve the long-term aims.

Rarely will the Irishman expand on his thoughts about a fixture in the future when his team already has a game on the horizon and it was the same when he held his pre-match media conference ahead of Saturday’s lunchtime clash with Motherwell at Fir Park.

Celtic have fired seven goals past the Steelmen in just two games – a 5-0 win in the League Cup and a 2-0 victory in the league – but the manager anticipates Saturday’s opponents will hope to make it third time lucky when the Hoops travel to North Lanarkshire for the first time this season.

“They’ll be disappointed in their last results but will have had a good week preparing and planning,” he said. “We’ve played them twice, we’ve played them at home, so they’ll be looking forward to be playing a home game.

“The last game was tough for us even though we created chances but we just have to make sure our concentration is right because we’re very hungry for the three points on the back of the cup.”

Love his comments on Lustig, I want him here for the rest of his career. Another one that seems to get the club and whose family is totally settled here.

you cannot underestimate the vital role players like him and brown play in passing on the celtic spirit to new players ,this was evident in mon's time through to wee strachans and lennons ,went missing with ronny ,surprising when you consider collins was there too ,you need long time players who have celtic in their hearts to ensure it never dies .

“I had a flashback of something that was important to me.
I just wished some people who aren’t here any more were there, so you get a wee sudden flash of something"

Said this about tearing up outside Celtic park when talking to fans after cup win. This for me is why this guy is going to be a great Celtic manager. Hail Hail Brendan

Here is an interview Brendan gave to the Daily Record in 2011 when he was Swansea boss, said he would walk to Parkhead to manage us.

    These are the exact quotes:

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/my-hero-tommy-burns-set-me-on-road-1079901

He is one of us, of that there is no doubt.

How can you not sense it from him? He loves being our manager.
