Surely the club got back him in Jan with 2 players in 3-4 million region. Spent abit now and guantanee qualification next summer and keep Brendan happy here and not let his mind drift thinking bout epl.

 

Was just thinking there I bet he was thinking about the times when he was younger watching Celtic with his Da and family and that's how he got choked up a little.

 

So lucky to have him. Hoping he's here for a few years at least.

not surprised he payed for the staff party last night.

 

I don't want to question it but really how much of a Celtic man is he ? Never really seen him mention previously before he came here etc or ever be seen at big games or whatever anybody in the know? Is he really as passionate about the club as he makes out

 

I certainly hope so but what is considered long is it another 2 years or we talking more than that I guess you can manage till any age so he shouldn't really be tempted to move elsewhere if it comes his way

I would say we should change the rolling contact to a settled deal for 2 or 3 years

 

He mentioned about 6/7 years ago when we played Swansea in preseason about how he'd walk here to be manager.

He's got family that post on KDS and are season ticket holders and he basically had all his local CSC at his unveiling at the back of his press conference.

He's also knew the Burns family for years and continued to visit them after Tommy died.

 

No I know about his family never knew that about Swansea would be good to see he interview I don't want to be all gloom but imagine a big club in a big league came calling when we did would he have come here ? Would anybody dought that ?

I think it still hasn't sunk into me yet who we have as manager honestly

I can't imagine anyone doubting this mans commitment. He exudes celtic from his very being. If ever a manager was one of us it's him. Lenny was the same although not with Brendans managerial ability. It came too early for Lenny.

I really really like Brendan Rodgers - and he is a better manager than Neil Lennon - but I don't see Brendan ever taking Neily's place in my affections. The outright hatred and bigotry that Neil Lennon was forced to deal with just because he was an Irish, Catholic, Celtic supporter, was something I will take with me to my grave. The way in which Neily dealt with all that, and his refusal to bow to it, sets him apart in my eyes.

People can talk about certain players or managers commitment to Celtic but how many would genuinely ignore threats against their own life and their family's lives to carry on serving Celtic? That's what Neil Lennon did. No harm to Brendan Rodgers but I find it difficult to believe he would put up with the * that Neil Lennon had to put up with. 99% of people wouldn't put up with what Neil Lennon put up with.
