Finish 3rd then go on a wee run in Europa League, would be fantastic.
The Germans will be seriously looking at as now and thinking *!

CELTIC manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed his players as “outstanding” following their dramatic 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League

The Hoops took the lead three times against the English side, twice in the first-half and once in the second, only to be pegged back by Pep Guardiola’s team on each occasion as a packed Paradise watched in awe as both teams went all-out for the win on a dramatic night at the home of the Scottish champions.
By the end of the game, City were pressing hard for all three points but Celtic held firm, pushed on by the incredible backing of the home support, and afterwards the manager said huge credit should be heaped on his players for the result against a side who had won their previous 10 games.
“We were disappointed with the goals we conceded,” the manager said. “We can analyse all three and do better. Certainly the first one was a miss-hit shot and they had a wee bit of luck with that, but apart from that I thought the performance of the team was absolutely outstanding.
“To play against a team like Manchester City and perform like that was an incredible performance.
“Tactically, if you’re not organised against this team, like we’ve seen in many games the Premier League, they can really hurt you but tonight, there’s no doubt that was a big game and big performance from ourselves.
“I’m sure Pep will recognise it was a real difficult night for them so I think he’ll be happy with the point. For me it’s another big step forward for us in terms of our improvement as a team, and collectively as a team the players were outstanding.”
Celtic became the first side to score more than one goal against Guardiola’s City side, and they were well worth each of their trio of strikes.
Moussa Dembele’s opener was followed up by a strike from Kieran Tierney before Dembele scored the pick of the bunch with an acrobatic finish less than a minute into the second-half.
Each time Celtic found the net, however, City had a response, with Fernandinho, Sterling and Nolito all helping to drag their team back into the game.
It all added together to make an enthralling encounter but the manager admitted there was still a feeling Celtic could have taken more form the game.
“I don’t want to put a negative on it because it was such a positive night but, of course, the second and third goal (they scored) can be better,” he said.
“We will improve on that but this is a team that, throughout Europe, everyone has talked about and rightly so because they are top-class with a top-class manager. He’s coached them really well, but it’s arguable that our players, the way they pressed the game, the mistakes they forced City to play, was really a great credit to my team.
“I think the support was absolutely amazing and the combination of the players’ performance and the atmosphere made it a real difficult night for Manchester City.
“So I’m very pleased we got something from the game. Naturally I felt we should have won the game but it’s a good step forward for us.”

BRENDAN Rodgers believes that the Celtic support played a vital role in Wednesday night's thrilling UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City at Paradise.
And he praised 'the 12th man' for helping the Hoops record a 3-3 draw against a side that had won all 10 of their previous competitive games under Pep Guardiola this season.
It was Brendan Rodgers' first Champions League group-stage game as Celtic manager, and his team produced a performance full of courage, determination and quality, taking the lead three times in the game. And the Celtic manager believes that the unity between the players and the supporters was instrumental in delivering another unforgettable European night at Paradise.
“It’s a noise I’ve never heard before since I’ve been up here,” the manager said. “I’ve played around the world for and with teams in great atmospheres and I am a Celtic supporter so I understand how passionate they are here.
"But when you come here you recognise and realise why so many players throughout the world that play for various teams talk about the atmosphere here.
“You can see that combination of that support and the team. When they play at that level it’s very difficult, even for a team of Manchester City’s quality. So you can actually say, when you have the Celtic support behind you it really is a like a 12th man.
“The atmosphere was electric, it was an incredible evening for us and they really helped us to produce the performance that we did.”

Yeah. as horrible as it might sound, Brendan needs to learn from...Lennon. Neil has caught on quickly to the need of pragmatic football in Europe. While being capable of doing well in the league.

Yep, this team is just so confident and calm. Trickles down from the coach.

He really is a fantastic coach.

The difference in our passing, movement and overall play is monumental since he's come in as manager and we are only a few months into his tenure. We can only get better under him. Even our first goal last night was an example of brilliant coaching - a really clever worked on set piece that gets you a goal against top opposition in the CL.

It's not even just City. We've performed pretty brilliantly in every home game (aside from maybe Astana) this season.

Red Imps, Man City (both 3 goals), Aberdeen (4 goals), Motherwell, Rangers, Hapoel (all 5 goals), Kilmarnock (6 goals).

It's incredible. The fitness, the intensity, the hunger etc.

Scary when you see how far we've come in such a short space of time. We've barely started..

Can't wait to see us when we've fully got his side together, after the next window..

It's certainly going to be fun, and plenty of team's are gonna get a hiding from us..
