More respect for him now, than when he signed.I thought he was promised a massive transfer kitty, obviously that hasn't happened,he has came here with same transfer monetary restrictions as our previous few managers and seems happy with it and doing a good job.In Brendan we trust.

Still have my nagging doubts about him but every time I expect him to fail, he passes. Just can't really write off that final 18 months at Liverpool.

Benteke: I would have been Liverpool success if Rodgers stayed

The new Crystal Palace player admits he did not suit Jurgen Klopp's style at the Merseyside club but feels he would have been a hit there had Rodgers not been sacked

Christian Benteke insists he did not fail at Liverpool, but feels his time there would have been more successful had the club not sacked Brendan Rodgers.

Benteke was a £32.5 million purchase from Aston Villa in July 2015 under former Liverpool boss Rodgers.

The 25-year-old started the first six league games of the season before Rodgers was sacked in October, with Jurgen Klopp taking the Northern Irishman's place at Anfield.

While he scored in his first two games under Klopp, Benteke was used predominately off the bench under the German for the rest of the season, preferring to play Firmino and Divock Origi up front.

Having joined Crystal Palace this summer for £32m, Benteke believes his time at Liverpool was not an unsuccessful one, but he conceded he could have done more to keep his place in the squad.

"I don't see my time there as a failure," the Belgium international told the Daily Mail. "When I signed there was another coach and with him it might have turned out differently.

"I did not fit the tactical system of the new coach. That was not easy mentally because I was left to fight a losing battle. But I must not look for excuses. I could also have done better in those few minutes I got. I have not performed as expected.

"Liverpool is a big club and, there, you do not go looking for the coach, knocking on the door of his office. I am grown man and I was able to deal with it.

"He had a particular system and I did not fit in. It was up to me to find a solution. These are things that happen in a career. There are no regrets."

Moyes was never in the class of BR,his thought processes and team strategies are too dour!!
In this short time BR, has become the darling of the fans, has the media in his pocket and has worked wonders with the players he inherited. His dealings in the transfer market has been exceptional, with each player in, it's added quality for that particular section of the team.
IMO in the next few seasons,BR is going to improve Celtic FC in all areas of the club not just the first team....this time next year, the squad of first team players will be totally different, with each addition improving the team...........really excited!!!!!.........oh aye! And can't wait to pump the Huns, the ground is going to be rockin..........

That is * mental. When clubs like Palace are paying £32 million for one player, we really aren't in Kansas anymore.

BRENDAN Rodgers has been using the short respite of the international break to focus his efforts on working with the Celtic Youth Academy.
Bringing through young players to the top team is a central plank of the manager’s strategy at the Hoops, as it has been at all his previous clubs.
He has already demonstrated his commitment to give youth a chance, with players like Eoghan O’Connell featuring prominently in the early part of the season.
And this week the Irishman has spent some concerted time with the Academy coaches, fronted by Head of Youth, Chris McCart, as he looks to forge a long-term strategy for nurturing young talent.
Earlier today he gave a lecture and presentation at Lennoxtown, speaking about a range of subjects including his game and training principles, along with his objectives, vision, culture and philosophy.
Speaking to this week’s Celtic View, the Hoops boss said: “I’m going to spend a couple of days working closely with the Academy. With all of the games and travelling, it’s been difficult for me to be there with them.
“I am looking forward to that, providing an overview of our methods and how we work and how we want to work – these are important.”

Brendan Rodgers has already taken in some of the Development Side games, along with the rest of his coaching staff, and he has been impressed by their performances and attitude.
“They have done very well,” he said. “They have played very well and have worked hard. The young guys learning the game know they have an opportunity to play in the first team which is important.
“The Academy produces young players and we want to produce Champions League young players, which will always be the driving factor for the Academy so that link between the Academy and the first team is important.”

Am I the only one now hoping Liverpool have a catastrophic season :56: WHO'S * WITH ME?

When I search "Brendan Rodgers" on Twitter, keep seeing these Liverpool fans trashing the guy. Half the time it's to build up Klopp, AND I DON'T PLAY THAT *.

I like Klopp but at the same time I think Rodgers gets a lot of unfair stick from Liverpool fans, bias aside.

Yes, he had Suarez as everyone loves to point out, but he still was a bawhair from winning a title which is something very few Liverpool managers can say in the past 30 years.

Klopp has been there nearly a year now so he will soon be getting harshly judged. Haven't seen all that much of them but whatever I have seen, it hasn't looked that great.
