Yeah, but to be fair, he hasn't watched those players do that time and time again when we're trying to get into a game.

We're full of mistakes on the ball and the nearer we go to our goal, I get worried

Aye, started off with KT from the halfway line going back, probably not even 20 minute's in. Way too soon, and of all the player's..

    He's right..

His change to a 3 nearly backfired but his last sub won the penalty, and the game so we can't complain. He'll be feeling a real touch of relief..

Get what you pay for. Had we still been under Delia I believe we would be out already.

Last two seasons, we lose that game under that kind of pressure. Welcome, Brendan

Honestly, after missing so many chances alongside slow sideways and backwards passing and conceding a * horrendous goal I genuinely thought Rodgers was gonna peel in half and Deila was gonna step out. That's not a dig at him by the way, more the players, the guy isn't a miracle worker, this group of players isn't good enough and he knows it, the club better back him or he'll be gone before the season ends in my opinion. He wants to make a name for himself all over again, he's not gonna put up with having to manage a squad as average as ours.

Yeah he knows we need to be patient is pretty much him saying he knows the teams weakness and give it a chance to play out. May not be as bad as we fear.

Think what we see under Rodgers is a lot better now than what we saw under ronny last season, but we still see some players making * awful decisions, which cost ronny inevitably last year and may cost Rodgers this year if he isn't allowed to sort these areas out.

The players on that pitch are making daft decisions and passes. The system is working, but the player decisions are going to cost us.

CELTIC were deserved winners in their dramatic clash with FC Astana tonight, according to Brendan Rodgers, after the Hoops secured a spot in the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers with a tense 2-1 victory at Paradise.
Penalties in the dying moments of either half converted by Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele sealed Celtic's place in the final round of qualifiers after Astana substitute Agim Ibraimi had levelled on the hour mark, and the Celtic boss said his side earned their safe passage to the play-offs.
“I thought we thoroughly deserved to go through,” he said. “We started the game with a great intensity with our pressing whenever we lost the ball. We got it back very quickly, restricted them to very few chances and at the end of the first-half we got the goal we deserved.
“We started the second-half well and then we made a mistake. The guy (Ibraimi) had a great finish and it’s a test of our character again, and what I’ve seen over the course of the pre-season, these players respond to the challenge. They were absolutely brilliant.
“I thought they stayed calm, we shifted the system, circulated the ball, worked the ball again and we needed a little bit of luck in some moments in the final third but didn’t quite get it, but they also showed their fitness at the end of the game as well.
“The work they have been putting in, the mentality within the game to score at the end of the first-half and then to keep pushing and score at the end of the second-half, we showed wonderful composure, great team spirit and thoroughly deserved to get through.”
Despite holding the advantage in the tie following the 1-1 draw in Kazakhstan in the first-leg last week, Celtic went on the hunt for the first goal at Paradise to kill the game, but their attacking prowess was dealt a blow when Patrick Roberts was forced off through injury on 30 minutes.
Stefan Johansen came on as the winger’s replacement and it took time for the Celts to find their rhythm again. When Kieran Tierney was fouled just inside the box on 45 minutes, however, the Bhoys were afforded an opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot and Leigh Griffiths obliged, sending Nenad Eric in the Astana goal the wrong way to put the Hoops in front.
The match was levelled on the night and on aggregate by Ibraimi after the hour mark but with extra-time looming, Dembele was hauled down in the Astana penalty box with the referee pointing to the spot.
Drama engulfed Paradise but the 20-year-old Frenchman showed remarkable composure to block out the deafening roar of the home crowd and send the Astana goalkeeper the wrong way, sending the home fans into the stratosphere and Celtic into the play-offs.
The Hoops manager praised his striker for having the bravery to take the strike and convert for his first Celtic goal.
“I said to some of the guys before the game that sometimes it’s about the team that finishes the game as opposed to the one that starts it, and there would have to be big contributions for players coming into the game,” he said.
“I thought Kolo Toure came in and showed his experience and was outstanding, but it’s great when you’re a goalscorer and get the goal. He’s been playing catch-up on his fitness but he’s got quality and that’s why he was coveted by so many teams.
“He showed great composure for a boy that’s just turned 20 years of age to score his first goal and I think when he scored that you saw the relief for him. Now he can really move on from that.
“Both penalty-takers showed wonderful composure in a pressure game and I was pleased for both of them, but obviously Moussa for his first goal.”
Celtic will now have to wait until Friday’s draw to discover their opponents but the Hoops manager said they are ready for the challenge.
“It’s the final step,” he added. “It was always going to be three tough rounds. The guys that have had the experience of it up here were telling me that sometimes the first two rounds are the most difficult, but that was a difficult test for us.
“I think everyone felt when the tie was made that we’d do well to come through but I thought over the two games we showed different elements of our game and we deserved to go through. So now we have one final step to go and we’ll see what Friday brings us.”

    Love it. :50:

Another big call with his subs, Dembele and Kolo proving master strokes. Even when Johansen came on he was in the main pish but almost had a crucial moment when setting up Griffiths 1v1 with the keeper.

That's what he's paid the big bucks for.

His comments on the fans was really interesting.

I noticed myself the crowd getting antsy when we weren't poring forward at times, including a weird segment when KT got a bit of a groan when he passed back the way.

We have such a fantastic support but it doesn't hurt to be reminded that we can be a hindrance at times too.
