I'm very interested to see who he gets rid of before the window closes. He will be finding out what systems and who fits Celtic the more games go by.

Thought the tactics were dodgy. Criminally exposed on the wings.

I pretended to love Ronny so I wasn't accused of being a miserable * or a Hun but I genuinely love Brendan :52:

He's doing well considering the situation we are in. I really hope people don't turn on him if we fail to make the group stages. We've no right to expect that with the limited squad he has just now.

Bitton, Forrest and Rogic. Bitton and Rogic impressed more than Forrest, but all three made enough effort.

Totally agree mate, its all well and good at this stage but if we get into CL proper then u need more - better management and players will nullify a single player. We need more creativity in all areas of mid to front

That's the difference between him and Ronny and maybe even Lenny. They were so stubborn with regards to subs, it was infuriating.

He made all the right subs at just the right time tonight. You could see how the game changed after he made those calls

Thats the difference between him n ronny, if its not working straight away he changes to adjust rather than being stubborn. Class act

As many have said, the subs were used very well. Bitton and Rogic gave us more control of the middle, and Forrest stretched the game and had their defence worried. We looked more of a threat when he came on.

Rodgers knows how important it is to add pace, I hope he manages to bring someone in to help us out ahead of the next tie (assuming we get through).

It'll be a fantastic achievement if we managed to qualify for the groups at the first attempt under Rodgers.

I agree with the subs but is making good subs not show that he picked the wrong team ?

I think he got his team selection right. Unfortunately the nature of the game is that on any given night certain players aren't going to have a great game. It's then the manager's job to switch things up, as well as reacting to opposition changes, the flow of the game etc. Rodgers done a good job on all account tonight.

Bitton replaced the poor Dembele when we were beginning to get overrun in midfield and got his foot on the ball, slowed the game down and got us some much need possession. We don't always want to be playing at that pace though.

Forrest came on and stretched the game and added some pace and width when Astana were pushing forward which at least kept their right back honest rather than marauding forward. His pace wouldn't have been as value during the earlier stages when the game was a bit tighter.

Rogic came on for the unusually poor McGregor and again gave us someone willing to put his foot on the ball and keep possession while also having the ability to pick a forward pass. It's no coincidence that Rogic came on in the latter stages (and after Bitton) when the pace of the game dropped a little.

Tactically, in my opinion, Rodgers got it spot on.

Can you guarantee every single player you put out to play will have a good match and give 100% and give the team their best game...???

No and neither can BR so how is he meant to put out the perfect team.:smiley-laughing002:

    Was thinking that earlier.

Especially with largely the same squad that Deila had, pretty much. Once he gets a few more of his 'own' players in we will only see more consistency.

Long way to go yet, mind.

Not unless the opposition manager does a Trappattonni and names his team the day before. :smiley-laughing002:
