I think the truth about Rodgers leaving is somewhere in the middle.

I would say he and Lawwell never wanted to work with each other and after 2 years they both probably wanted rid of each other.

I’m convinced Lennon knew the Celtic job was his before he even left Hibs and Lawwell knew Rodgers was looking for a way out.

For me, Rodgers is a terrific manager and one of Celtic’s best ever managers.

He’s also clearly a narcissist and a snake. I don’t blame him for leaving Celtic, I blame him for leaving before the season was finished.

You can make whatever excuses you want for him but at that point in the season he didn’t need to deal with Lawwell at all and he could’ve left with his head held high at the end of May, welcome back any time he wanted.

He went because he didn’t give a * about us and wanted a head start at Leicester.

Ah, I've no heard that. Am going on about it like McGinn was a no brainer that he seemed to be for most people but I wasn't actually that bothered. I was annoyed once he we lost out and he kicked on with Villa and Scotland though.

Personally I think he'd jump at the chance, it'll be the most attention he'll ever get and we all know what he thinks about himself in the limelight

SAF ruled out being England manager basically due to being Scottish, Irishmen who have been in English football for years don’t seem to be quite as patriotic.

    Unless youre McClean .

Gotta hand to that fella, his refusal to "bend the knee" has probably cost him lucrative moves, sponsorships etc.

Rodgers is about as much an Irishman as * Barack Obama.

He'd * LOVE that England job. That's a limelight he could milk until he exploded from all the pent up * his ego would keep producing.

It's a toss up between him and Beale to be the most egomaniacal attention whores in British football.

He justified abandoning us mid season by blaming Leicester.
He told the rags that Leicester would not wait for him, that if he didn't come there and then, the position would be filled.

He let his * ego and his desperation to get back to the EPL limelight cloud his judgement. For anyone else, that's a * red flag.
If you're not willing to wait then I couldn't be that much of a top target. It was a matter of weeks FFS.

As you say. He could left here a hero, and an actual legend. One of the best managers in our history.
He left through the back door like a cheating husband as he knew exactly the reaction he was going to get.

Imo, he'll never be a Celtic legend. His behaviour was just too disgusting.

The reason Southgate has done well as their manager is he’s managed to get rid of the ego they’ve always had, Rodgers is majorly egotistical, I think that’d go onto the team and have a bad effect.

He’s an exceptional coach and trainer, truly exceptional. That’s where he gets his success, that doesn’t matter as much internationally there’s not a major amount of time spent training a style into a team

Entirely predictable. First 12-18 months the man can do no wrong and is the best thing since sliced bread, doesn’t get what he perceives to be a better job and from that point on it goes * up. His next move will go the exact same was as well.

Last night was Leicester’s equivalent of our AEK Athens shambles from his time here.

Still can’t stand to look at him or listen to his crap after Leicester ‘highlights’, I mute him, I also keep hearing how with time our Celtic support will forgive him and rejoice at his tenure at Celtic, * THAT AND * THE SNAKE. Of all the * that came out after he left, the lies involving Danny McGrain, putting one of our actual greats in the position of having to keep quiet rather than call the snake out for his lies, McGrain put our club first, again unlike that snake
