Brendan Fraudgers!

We don't have an unlimited budget, and we have other areas of the pitch that need much greater attention than the centre of midfield.

We've got ourselves a striker to partner/compete with Griffiths, we need one central defender, and one or two wingers now.

If it were up to me, I'd move on Johansen, send Henderson on another loan deal and bring in one quality central midfield player. But only after we've addressed the more pressing areas of the squad.

Edit: Depending on how Ajer is, I'd be tempted to move Bitton on in January, too.

 

No egos in the squad, hard workers is very interesting considering the rumours of the last year (which I thought was bullshit then and still do)

Seriously, though, if Deila 'lost the dressing room' it was down to him rather than the players. You have to earn the respect of a group of young men, and if he was showing signs of the pressure getting to him - which I think was the case, then he made a rod for his own back. Sad, unfortunate, but probably true.

Bring in a man of Rodgers' stature in the game, who arrives with universal backing of the support, the players buy in straight away. He immediately has their respect, while Deila had to earn it.

 

I don't think he lost anything, players seemed genuinely angry/gutted when he was leaving. Just that it didn't work out for him.

Deila said it himself, he was a burden, players were carrying him.

 

That could be down to the fact it is a far more respected manager in charge though now as well to be fair.

 

It's par for the course that the regulars are unhappy when a manager leaves. I'd wager that the huge amount of players sitting on the bench and in the stand are much happier now.

 

Not really the way I think egos work but fair enough.

That is true, something else Ronny said. The likes of Allan will be happy to try and prove himself.

 

Who would command more respect from players. Ronny Deila or Brendan Rodgers?

 

Based on initial reputation and standing in the game, Rodgers. But that is just basic psychology, no? Nothing to do with egos.

You've got to remember these are Celtic players not guys with ego's thinking they're the best in the world, when being benched by who they perceive to be a no mark from Norway these ego's will show face as they'll think the know better, it's a different ball game with a guy like Rodgers he commands respect.

You need to understand first what's driving their ego.
