You watch, the hoops will go out this weekend & smash Lyon & Arsenal when the results mean absolutely * all, typical Celtic.

When we stop going on these whirlwind tours of America and cramming games in all over the USA before a long flight home to play in important CL games we might at least have a fighting chance of winning a fecking game!:31:

I know these trips bring in money and I know we have to give the US fans a chance to see the team, but FF's sake how many times do we have to repeat the same feckin scenario before it sinks in to those people on the board who make these ridiculous decisions that these trips severely handicap our chances of qualifying.

    Hi lads,

Didnt read all the 29 pages but read a good bunch of posts.
The match was crap but Braga deserved to win. To be honest we (supporters) had a lot of respect for Celtic but last night you proved to be brutal! Not one shot in goal! How do you want to score if you dont try? Loads of wrong passes and your defense... a bit shaky. On the other hand we have a very consistent defense although our goalkeeper is *. But then again he didnt need to work last night.
Cant say anything about the penalty cos didnt see it on tv yet. Must say that in the stadium I thought it was handball.
We didnt expect to win 3-0, I certainly didnt but to be honest I was hopping that we would win 2-0. In your history you already lost 3 null and managed to turn it around but I think Braga will probably score one goal there.
About playing in an atmosphere like yours... not a problem to us. I am pretty sure our players wont be too impressed and thats because they are experienced players and they will be comfortable after the 3 goals.

    Cheers
    Maria

The image is not clear... My place in the stadium was in front of that player and I had the impression it was handball. So the ref had a few dodgy decisions but I think he was right on this one.

    Thanks for that.

I think your're absolutely right on everything but I still think it wasn't a penalty.

Braga fully deserved their win and we were brutal. Braga will probably do alright over in Glasgow as well, if I were to be really optimistic I'd say a 2-0 win for Celtic but my heart says it'll be 1-1 or something...

video of it can be downloaded here

There is a bit of pace on the ball but could Ki have avoided the handball.. Definately.. Could it be classed as intentionally trying to control the ball ?

That's my worry.. Even in a bog standard SPL game we've shown that for every two or three half chances we allow the pishy wee teams to have they will find the net at least once.. It's not in our nature to play an organised defensive game but if we can ride our luck at the back we'll have a slim chance..

Got what they deserved tbh. This team still needs to gel. We couldn't even do the basic stuff like a 10 yard pass. Every time we got the ball it just got lumped forward even when there was a teammate 10 yards away unmarked. I can understand why they don't pass to brown but the rest of the mid look like they might actually be able to control the ball and then passit to o e of there own players. Brown should be hunted asap he is a complete impostr of a player who shouldn't be near our team. He has absolutely * all about him same goes for loovens, mulgrew, sammi and maloney

I would say 2-1... And we will probably score first cos you will have to play open to score goals...

Anyway, thanks to all the Celtic supporters for being what you are - the best in the world!
I think we gave a good image of ourselves too. I hope those who came were not disappointed with the Braga crowd.

Now c'mon the hoops! Best of luck!
If nothing else you have to win your championship (and theres UEFA...)

Braga scored 3 goals from 3 set pieces, 1 of which a dubious penalty.

We had more possession and apart from the 3 set pieces we were never troubled. The scoreline flatters Braga and even if we don't manage to turn it round at Parkhead we will prove that you're not 3 goals better than us.

Lenny's formation was a bit of a bad move to me.

I understand the idea of not playing Hinkel and McGeady to sell them on, fair enough, think that given the players we have we SHOULD have been fine.

Pre-season so far, Paddy has played in the hole and done well. Scored our last 2 goals from open play since the league finishedand has made a pest of himself (excluding the Celtic XI game against lincon). Why was he dropped for Ki?

Sammy has played great when hes been played in a more midfield role. Why was Rass or Marco not unfront with Sammy in for Maloney whos never fit?

The more he plays brown the more respect I lose for Lenny. Brown is not a good footballer or captain...Big Jos looked more like he was leading the team on the park.

Jaurez should have been given more time with the team before getting his debut if you as me. At very most I would have brought him on as a sub

Why was Murphy brought on? MAF has european experience and was more likely to score than Murphy.

Also, Forrest as much as I like the kid isnt ready for a game of that size, start him in cup games and lower level league games, dont briing him on as a sub in the champions league qualifiers.

A lot of strange descisions made. I don't really want to comment to much on the players. None of them looked good and from the quality of my stream I couldnt really see who was who. All I will say is Mulgrew isn't good enough, never was and probably never will be and Brown didn't do anything decent (theres a surprise)

he first full competitive match, team been over usa in 3 time zones, not best prep for playing braga, and we can take braga ordinarry team. help from ref, plenty time who cares about europe this year was a bonus if got through guys, after all league is what we want, and if go by past o neil got whpped in group stage and so did strachan and look what happened, all this negative talk so much for getting behind your team, disgrace it is.... use seem to think celtic fc got trillions when we dont we goiing through and new change and stability before europe after last season, team needs to gel. gurantee in few more games of playing together be a different team playing braga as lennon said game come bit early for our players, after all braga team, 2nd in portugese league. and we 2nd in spl get with the times spl is a poor league and scottish game going through a poor patch, so instead of been negative lets get behind the boys and scotland and turn us in to the world beaters we was but times have changed and take time to do this, can see a good team in the green and white just need time to gel and get fit, after all celtic team look a yard short of pace last nite

I'd say because of good fortune at times like the break of the ball ricocheting away from Braga players a couple of times inside our box.. There was a carbon copy ball around our 6 yard box earlier in the game to the one that they scored from and this mix up with Du Ri and Loovens [IMG] during the 2nd half when they kinda left it to each other is ocasionally the schoolboy stuff that costs us a goal..

Braga looked equally as bad as us at times in the middle of the 2nd half but because we were playing so deep and countering them they compressed the play mostly into our half so any mistakes they made weren't punishable and when we had the chance to break clear with Maloney and Brown we couldn't even take advantage of it due to a sloppy pass..

I'd guess he wanted a disciplined performance and he felt Ki could give more from a defensive point of view than Paddy but it just plays into the oppositions hands when you concede territory and a decent share of posession through a containing game , unless your passing game from back to front is decent to very good..

I reckon Fortune was still carrying an injury from the Lisbon game otherwise he'd have played some part..

We were poor all over the park last night and didn't deserve anything from the game, equally, 3 goals flatter Braga.

As has been the case for years now our defence can't actually defend so I'd love to see at least one commanding centre back brought in ASAP.

I'm not that bothered about Europe as we have to win the league and although the money is important, giving this new team a chance to gel before facing the big guns is probably a good idea.

I think we'll beat Braga next week, but I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet and they'll go through and we drop into the Europa qualifiers.
