There is no alternative. The league is screwed. If everyone on here has their way it will only get worse. If thats the case it will affect us also.

As I've said, by financially supporting a club which conspires to create and prop up a bent, corrupt and dishonest league (that's what you call being complicit in cheating!) you are, whether you like it or not, supporting cheats- even if that isn't your motivation.

In a perfect world it would be a perfect oppertunity to rejuvenate itself but we dont live in a perfect world. We live in a country with a poor league which will only get worse without Rangers. Like it or not that is a fact. If the league gets worse we will also be affected by that. Most business's are reliant on income from certain areas , certain contracts for example and from personal experience i know that a business loosing a big contract can go to the wall. Your budgets and finances are dictated on what you are bringing in. loose 1 major one and you are in trouble. Thats how it works and football clubs are no different. We may be taking 1 step back but i would love to know how the 2 steps forward will come?? I for one just cant see it.

    No, it's not.

It's a democratic voting structure, therefore it should be blind.

It is the same, in Football terms.

They would be letting a club who never even existed 6 months ago, into the SPL leapfrogging not just SFL clubs but junior, highland League etc clubs who have been running for years. Just because the club have a big stadium and fans that will give them money.

Like I mentioned before, it would be no different to Barca, Man U etc going to UEFA and saying "these wee diddy Ukranian, Scottish, Danish, Belgian teams dont bring enough money to the Champions League table, we want to vote to allow just teams with over 30,000 capacity stadia in whos turnover is atleast £40million a year - it will attract more sponsors and give us all extra money.

losing a big contract can make a company go to the wall. I can't deny that.

It also gives a company a chance to rebrand and focus attentions to other viable income streams. Which can pay dividends.

I get your apathy about the state of the league, but there's no point moaning about it with no intention of changing it. We might as well pack up and * off home if that's the case. "We're *, let's just carry on the way we are........." seems silly to me.

Again your arguementS lack reason. You seem to think that if they are there they will be up challenging us on a regular basis. There is nothing to suggest this will be true. Even one of the current directors is stating that unless they run at a loss they will not be competitive. If they stay in the SPL and the TV deal stays etc, they will not be much of a challenge. Simple economics tells you this. Green want to run at a profit. The current company are running at losses of £1m per month, mainly from wages. Once that is gone how are they going to be successful in comparison to us?

Should make the Scottish League system 2 Divisions, 20 team Premier and 18 team 1st Division, 3 relegations could add in relegation to the 1st Division too to allow junior/highland teams the chance to get in.

20 teams at the top would have a closer title race too like Holland as there would be more easier games and less difficult games allowing teams like Dundee Utd to get more points.

Would also get rid of the chance of playing the same team 4 times in the League too. As its nonsence that concievably Celtic could play Motherwell for example 9 times next season if we played in the League x 4, League Cup, Scottish Cup x2 and Europe x 2.

That's exactly the kind of short-term thinking which got Scottish football into the current failing status quo. The business model of having to rely on one club to survive is completely naive and ridiculous, and those clubs deserve to be put out business for it. Clubs have to learn to live within their means, and move away from entirely short-term business models in order for Scottish football to move forward.

You think the anonymity of an individuals political vote on who should govern and run their country is comparable to a scenario in which the most important stakeholders of a particular business should/should not be made aware of a vitally important decision? ...You're surely not serious?

if we're looking at a football club as a business then we're the customers, not the stakeholders. I'm not saying we're unimportant before anyone jumps on that, but from a business standpoint that is all we are. customers.

Shareholders in the business should know which way the club is voting certainly though.

I don't see any point now in ANY of the teams voting for Newco entry. There are enough votes to say NO, that a unanimous decision would hold more sway. There doesn't seem to be any sense in voting yes, if your destined to lose. This would only put you in the firing line for boycotts from other clubs supporters, where a united front would leave the hundead with a decision to boycott EVERY club in the current SPL set-up, if they should ever get back in.

Its mental whats happening really when you think about it. Clubs are voting on wether or not to let another Club into the SPL :56:

The only reason a Club should ever be voted into a League structure is if a Club dies and theres a space needing filled which should be at the very bottom not thw * top League :87:.

The very fact you believe the Celtic support can 'bully' or sway a club is surely a sign they are important stakeholders in your eyes, as well as customers who are the life-blood of any business? Surely they have a right to know?

In terms of Scottish football clubs, a large number of the shareholders are supporters.
