    Two things about this.

    The Bangles deserve another honourable mention:

    Secondly, the movie their version of Hazy Shade of Winter was from, Less Than Zero, also features one of my all time favourite songs - the one I want to be buried/consigned to the flames etc to.

    Roy Orbison's Life Fades Away, the version actually written for and used in the film, without all the strings and backing vocals (below) is immeasurably superior to the one that was featured on the soundtrack album and much more widely distributed on his various best of's et al. Weird.

    Speaking of Roy Orbison, having a bit of a career revival in the mid-late 80's. His final studio album, Mystery Girl, was class.
