Boruc

boruc was commanding today, and that stop with his feet (at 0-0) when he was diving the other way today was class. He might have slipped a bit but everyones human and he's gained us more points than lost us with his vital saves.

Boruc has been superb this season, as with all keepers he has had his dodgy moments, but overall I think he's been a great signing for the Hoops.
Marshall is a good keeper, but he still has a lot to learn, I can't see him sticking around though if Boruc keeps the no1 jersey.
Can't believe some fans are giving Boruc stick, far to many fickle fans wearing the Hoops nowadays.

 

Why are most of you downing Boruc, he's been a great keeper this season, sure a few mistakes here and there, but he has been solid for Celtic and he's been earning victories for us.

 

Thats the problem, Boruc is one game brilliant, no mistakes. Then another game, he's flapping at crosses and they end up in our net. In Europe it wont be as easy to fix those mistakes. Good teams will make them stick. The like of Dumfermline wont be able to make a mistake stick.

 

The guyhad a good game yesterday, arguably got us the win by making that save when it was 0-0.

how long did it take boruc?


if the big pole were in the net in bratislava, the media would be talking about celtic being the first scottish side to advance, not rangers

i like marshall tho, good keeper..should get a run out in the next few games

but on some of those goals it looked like marshall had never even played before

 

we shoul be glad we have two class keepers. Boruc is my fav but I like Marshall too. I'd give him a chance.

 

He did have quite bad game, still hink hes a quality keeper

 

Don't try and say Broto wasn't good lol. He had a dodgy mistake on his first game and was solid from then on. Also he was voted 3rd best keeper in La Liga last season, only just behind Valdes & Casillas.

well, good game, ok, but that doesn't solve the problem. of course he still is a great keeper and can win us a game. but i still think there's something wrong with Boruc. or rather something bad is happening. if it would be just some mistakes and nothing else i wouldn't be so worried. but that's not all:

a) he started having those "clumsy moments", or maybe moments of lack of concentration

b) he became FAT. not gained weight, FAT! i never ever saw him look like this before

c) he is trying to intercept balls that he should left to defs. of course he is not able to properly reach some of them and he gets himself in trouble. generally he sometimes tries to do too much.

d) remeber some of the things he said to those Legia fans, like "the GK training in Celtic is not so good as in Legia" "i'm getting fat, but what can i do" and so on? he then took it all back, but i think he might have said what he really thought


so what's the reason of all his mistakes and so on? imho the possible explanations are:
1. something's wrong with the training. how is it possible that the coach -especially GK coach in this case - let's his player gain so much weight? don't they control his diet? don't they control his exercises? somebody is not doing his work right i think!

2. he lost confidence in the defs. i mean like in the cases i wrote about in b) he behaves like "if i won't do it, they won't for sure". well, i understand they were putting him in trouble a lot of times, especially in the beggining of the season, but this gotta stop! where are the GK coaches to tell him that??

3. too little competition fo Celtic in the SPL, resulting in him not having enough to do during the matches. player can only get better by really playing - i mean using his skills, not just being on the field of course - and the keeper is the only player that can spend 90 minutes on the field not really not really doing it, or using them just a little. this can not only result in loosing the form and the "feeling" but also in the behaviour like in b) - doing too much just to do something when one feels he's not really playing enough.


i'm afraid that if i'm right - especially about the training - and something won't be done, we can see Artur make more and more mistakes. hope i'm wrong!

 

Boruc is above average in the SPL, but if he gets his place in Germany for Poland I think he will struggle!

sure he is a great keeper, anybody saying he's not must be blind, but doesn't the fact that he's getting worse, not better, concern you? i will repeat over and over - i really don't think it's just a worse form, something's wrong.

 

i really don't see him getting worse every player will have a wee dip in form over the season all in boruc has been fantastic he will cope well at the world cup and the CL. him and broto are the 2 best keepers i've seen at paradise in the last 10yrs. how rab the brickie managed to get such a long spell in the team baffles me. he gifted rangers games+championships had us knocked out the CL and cost us the uefa cup final and is the one black mark against MON judgement

 

well, his average lavel is still very high, true. but he started making mistakes he didn't make before, even back there in Legia AFAIK. and the other thing is he is getting fat, right? and imho that's clear symptom there's something wrong, probably with his training.
