*, that was a good argument of my point :52:. I agree, but im just trying to say that if the defense wasnt so bad boruc would have had a really good day, i cant actually remember him having a save to make.

He was poor at the first goal...would have expected him to save that...poor positioning.

2nd goal was not his fault.

No chance. 25% of a goalkeeper is his defence, and the Animaniacs aren't providing any sort of defence. With the way his defence is playing it's a wonder he hasn't conceded more.

For me he's got to take some blame for the first goal, he made it way too easy.

Just because the CBs were awful doesn't mean Artur can get off the hook under any circumstances.

I think that it is a poor argument trying to blame the keeper when the two CBs let the player run right in to the goal, most strikers would have scored from there and lets face it Kenny Miller is * at finishing and would have had to have been right in front of goal to score.

Right, brought this thread back to life due to the info in todays papers, before i get started, i am a fan of the guy and taking his recent time out due to his operation and the poor defence that plays in front of him, can we put our full trust in him in front of goals? we know all about the mistakes the defense make.

I feel the shape he's in that he could well possibly cost us in the huns game come the 3rd.if the mistakes dont come from the back line, sure as * i feel they will come from him.

As he's the fans favourite, does this shield the fact that he does no wrong?
this point in time, i dont know if can trust the big fella as much as i used to
and maybe if the gossip in the red tops are true, then maybe its time for pasture's new

    Thoughts?

He's made his mistakes and probably isnt on top form at the moment but I never go into a game thinking he's a liability. He's one of our best and more consistent players and 9/10 he rises to the big occasion, particularly against the huns.

Perhaps not at his best at the moment, but I think I would say his performances for Celtic since he arrived gives in many points in the plus column, which is totally different to the way I view the performances of Hinkel, Caldwell, Loovens and Mc Manus, they are all certainly liabilities.

The Holy One may not be in peak form at the moment but:

    1. He is still a better keeper than Zaluska
    2. He is still our best player when on form
    3. He's still one of our better players when not in top form

I still think Artur is slightly out of shape compared to what he used to be but maybe that's just age. All the people who want to give the goalie shirt back to Zaluska conveniently forget that he was poor for the two goals we conceded at Tannadice. If Artur had been in goals that day more would have probably been made of it. Cross balls aren't Artur's strength either but he's better at them than Zaluska is. We also have a huge Old Firm game coming up and I think it would give Rangers another lift to see Artur's name not on our team sheet. I know there's a certain Mr Boyd who would love for Artur not to be playing on January 3.

One game. How many times has he saved us against the Shame? Or is he to be condemned as an Old Firm dud like Rab Douglas because he had one shocker?

    agree with the op

People agree he isn't on form so why is he still playing?

An out of form goalkeeper is the worst thing to have to deal with . He has been so shakey recently he is hesitant to come for balls seems to dive in slow motion and getting his angles really wrong at times and certainly not making the game saving stops

Big artur might be the best goalie that we have got but he certainly is not in form as well as being unfit..he was badly at fault for the goal at hearts i mean any goalie worth his salt would have been out and caught that cross ball(although defense was mostly to blame)...personally i think he needs dropped for a good few games and give the big lad cervi a game....surely a * at 6ft 7 must be able to deal with cross balls and hes also not a bad shotstopper from what ive seen!!!!

He has to go all us fans need to wake up and see he is not good enough he is fat and over weight , this has alot to do with the way he is playing look back to when he first signed for us , we all love him cause he was fantastic back then , And cause he hates the huns , but that is not good enough for the last season he has been very poor and his head is not in it anymore , If the talks of swaping him for Robbie Keane are true , then its a deal for me, we should have solh him after the euro's for a massive fee as his stock was high then ,

Lukas is good enough for Number one and sign that Lad Ruddy from Everton for number 2 , We really missed the boat on the Brad Guzan deal ,

Form is temporary. Class is permanent. I rate him, but to be fair he has been poor recently. Not sure he could have done much on Sunday, or against Rapid. Maybe he's gettin all the bad performances oot the way before the huns at home:icon_mrgreen:. Lets hope so.

I duno where this thread has sprung from but the slagging of Boruc is getting tired!
The man is not a miracle worker (although sometimes I think he just might be) there is only so much he can do when he has a shaky defence infront of him! He isnt getting the protection due to too many school boy errors from the centre backs.

He is our best goalkeeper, and in my opinion the best we have had in many a year!!

That was a one off against them, usually he's very reliable and he's saved our neck alot more.

Boruc has been poor for 2 years now, he's living on past reputation. I'm sorry, but no good keeper makes has many mistakes as Artur has in recent years, even average keepers like Langfield haven't made as many big mistakes as him.

If he was signed in 2007 (Forgetting the 2 previous years when he was brilliant) then I reckon he would be regarded in the same bracket as someone like Magnus Hedman. The whole 'Holy Goalie' thing has prevented him from deserved criticism as he's such a fans favourite.

The amazing saves he used to pull off all the time are seldom now, instead replaced with a nervous wreck of a keeper who knows himself that a blunder is right round the corner.
