Foster will become a top goalie when he can master the art of coming off his line to take the ball at corners wasn't commanding enough in that aspect of his game.

When Boruc's head was screwed on and he was up for it, then he was at the top of that tree.

    In that case...

    Boruc > Gordon > Foster

That game at Easter Road irked me for a while. He was too busy jumping about in front of their fans and winding them up and had two clangers.

Gave us some amazing moments thankfully, Man U peno, Moscow, League Cup Final, and great performances all round with world class saves.

Tbh Gordon had an absolute shocker in our most important game of the season last year and pretty much cost us the tie. Having said that without his world class performances in the games preceding that we wouldn't have been there.

Great poll. Boruc, just for that night in Milan, when your players have t rise to the occasion and give a performance, he stepped up. He was superhuman that night. I remember watching the highlights when I got back and just seeing this look on Ancelotti's face - i think ot was after an unreal save from a Seedorf freekick - that was like 'I don't think anything is getting by this keeper'. He was the real deal.

Forster was probably more consistent and near the end of his Celtic career he was incredible; amazing concentration, outrageous ability, and big game mentality. He didn't have that crazy continental flamboyance that Boruc had, where he would blow your mind with his performances, but he grew into a great keeper. I think that's what was so satisfying about Forster, he was pretty ordinary and lacking in confidence when he arrived, but when he left, he was Tyler Durden. It was great to see.

Artur Boruc. At his peak he was one of the top 3-5 goalkeepers in the world. Neither Forster or Gordon will ever scale those heights.

Bet if you ask many football fans of other clubs very few would have Boruc in the top 5 goalkeepers in his prime when at his best.

Aye but the same folk will tell you Virgil is * because he plays in Scotland so I wouldn't worry about them too much tbh.

Yep. Nobody pays any attention to Scottish Football. Henrik Larsson was a world class player for us for years but I feel like he was only universally appreciated once he set up two goals in the Champions League final. Every Celtic fan had known for years he was capable of that.

I don't care what any fan in any other country says. I saw some of the performances Boruc put in for us in the Champions League and I also saw him be the best goalkeeper in the Euro 2008 tournament. The guy was absolutely world class at that point in time and nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

    Exactly.
And Forster had his howlers too at times.
For all those reasons I am going for Craig Gordon, at the peak of his game, pound for pound being the better, more consistent, and more reliable goalkeeeper.

Was that the tournament where he was brilliant against Germany ?

For some people it just doesn't compute that very, very good players can play in Scotland. On the BBC yesterday Sutton was saying that Virgil was better than Stones and that Everton wouldn't have conceded the goals yesterday had he been playing in Stones position. Tbf nobody even bothered arguing with him as it wasn't in their preconceived narrative they just ignored his comments.

I think the game you're thinking of was in the 2006 World Cup. Poland did play Germany in Euro 2008 as well though.

See that's what I mean. People down in England never took Henrik Larsson seriously. They just thought he was scoring goals in a tin pot league and wasn't even worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Alan Shearer. Utter bollocks. Larsson had to sign for Barcelona and set up two goals against an English club in the Champions League final for the penny to finally drop. As I say, we'd all known for a long time how good Henrik was so it was no surprise to us when he did what he did.

Forster was the most talented out of those I think, with Boruc not far behind him.
Boruc is definitely the most likable of the three though, especially with how he used to wind up the huns. Don't understand anyone voting for Gordon though.

Dunno. I didn't vote for him.All three have made countless brilliant saves for Celtic. Gordon has certainly made the least mistakes ( though obviously he has had far fewer games.) Maybe that has played a part in those voting for him.
