The language used can be difficult, but I found it much easier once I had looked up the basics of the story, I think I did it on Wikipedia. That probably makes me a bit of a philistine(or just plain thick) but I found it really helped me to understand and enjoy the book.

A cracking book- some amazing pictures. Also have a book by the same author called The Civil War which is a similar format.

The Old Man And the Sea is the other Hemingway book I've read, I'd recommend it if you like the other two.

Just finished reading the Shadow of the Wind trilogy. The last book leaves it open for a 4th so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that.

Started Game of Thrones a couple of nights ago, enjoying it so far.

Love the TV show so the book should be as good if not better.

Read all five that have been released so far - and the preview chapters of the sixth book - this summer. Brilliant. Got so into them :50:

Me and a mate both found A Feast for Crows to drag slightly. But if you find it like that I would encourage you to plough through, it all gets better near the end and certainly the next book (A Dance with Dragons) is a lot better.

The first three got me hooked unbelievably. Especially A Storm of Swords. If you watch the TV show, you will love reading what we haven't seen on screen yet :50:

Yeah I've started from the first book. Just going to try and get it read as quickly as I can and keep going with the series.

The only thing is, I don't know if I should read ahead of the TV show or not.

So is this brand new?i thought the series was done and dusted, take it he's still writing?cheers for info.:50:

Couldn't wait myself and probably at the end of the 4th tv series, well good.As i say the books and tv series are kind of jumbled up and theres even characters in the books that don't appear on tv so probably better starting from scratch.:50:

The first book is fantastically made in the TV show I thought.

I'll be surprised if you catch up with the show and manage to stop reading. I couldn't have :50:

Aye, there's going to be seven books as it stands. Though, tbh, I can see him announcing that he will be extending it even further soon. Wish he'd move his * and release The Winds of Winter (book #6).

I love the ASOIAF books so much. I even really liked AFFC, although not much is happening, it gives you much more insight in certain characters.

When the WoW gets out, I will probably need to read the first five again.

Do you think he'll stop at seven, or announce there will have to be more?

Just now i'm reading "Black Magic Killers" - a true crime book about cult killings.
Also got "The Third Policeman" on the go. Started it a while back but i had too many books at that time it never got my full attention. Restarted it. It's pretty good.
