Finished a re read of Yeats Is Dead edited by Joseph O'Connor and written by O'Connor and 14 other contemporary Irish authors. A really funny and wild ride of a crime novel. All in a good cause as well as the profits go towards Amnesty International.

Want to start reading some books, I used to read somewhat regularly a few years ago. Absolutely loved the Saga of Darren Shan, which I read maybe 5 or 6 years ago. The Alex Rider from Anthony Horowitz was brilliant as well.

I haven't finished a book since then, other than a couple throughout high school, though. Read about the first 120 odd pages of both Game of Thrones and The Fellowship of the Ring - but for whatever reason I just stopped reading them. Probably because, as much as I enjoyed them, I love the TV series/films so felt like I was just reading what I've already seen.

What are some of the best horror/fantasy books I should start with? Not sure where to start.

Might give Magician by Raymond E Feist a try. One of the best fantasy I have ever read. Read a lot of his books in the past and recently picked it up again.

Cheers, just had a wee look at it there and it sounds interesting.:50:

Just remembered that I read Shutter Island and really enjoyed it. Might see what else Dennis LeHane has done.

I thought it was very interesting how the different groups of Celts evolved in Ireland and Scotland in particular.

Finished a re read of Patrick Power's * and Marriage in Ancient Ireland. A fascinating look at the old Brehon Laws in these areas and how much more sensible they often were.

is this with regards to the Dal Riata?

Did it say anything about the origins of the Celts? Supposedly they came from France or Spain but I've also heard Poland and even Portugal. Really are a mysterious bunch :smiley-laughing002:
