I'd never sign him, good Aberdeen player but not enough about him for us.

Even if he was on a free transfer at the end of the season i'd not be that interested, feel he's a lot like Nisbet who was at Hibs a not bad allrounder and decent player for Hibs and Aberdeen but he'd never get a game for us.

For £4million there must be dozens of better strikers about, Oh I think cost half that and is far better.

I am not sure on this one, he seems a decent player but for a big guy isn’t very physical or capable of holding the ball up. He does seem capable of a range of finishes.

In his 16 goals last season quite a few were penalties too.

Personally I would like a stronger player, he also looks better in a front 2 which we don’t play with.

To be fair there is players out there that look good for the £5m mark from those leagues with good records. All such a risk though, whereas I think with hoops he was a totally different style of striker. One of which I haven’t seen since tbf.

I always wanted us to take Adam Armstrong from Newcastle when Forster was here too and he’s gone on to have a good goal scoring career. Thought maybe we could loan him last year after not getting much of a chance at Southampton in the prem but he stayed and is back scoring loads again.

someone I would actually be looking at us taking a punt on would be langstaff from notts county, can’t imagine at 26 he’d cost much from them

Oi hands aff Langstaff!, or at least wait till summer till Notts Co get promotion :) In seriousness tho he is a cracking player for Notts but not sure if he could do it for us.

Not for me. He's more use to us at Aberdeen. I'd rather in January we go for an out of favour striker on loan with an option to buy in summer.

Doubt it's anything more than the SMSM doing their best to unsettle Aberdeen's main goal threat ahead of a cup final against their favourite team.

correct me if I’m wrong but the last 3 strikers we have signed were Kyogo, GG and Oh. Far better players then him…

    Stupid question tbh

I really like him as a player, eye for goal, good link up play, is solid and a good target man. Makes CB’s uncomfortable playing up against him, eye for goal with good movement and a good attitude. At 24 scope to improve.

Really like him, was shouting for us to have a look, but at the prices getting thrown about £5m/£6m, not for me. £3.5m, maybe a sell on fee. Aye I’d do it.

Not even next Jan-Feb when we lose literally all our other centre-forward options for a month? Right you are…

I do agree on the other point re value for money though. He’s a good striker (and I don’t agree that he’s miles off of Oh - they’re probably similar levels at this stage), but take £4m to a different market and we’ll get a better player than him, imo.

He’s a 2 million pound forward that would cost us around 6/7 fae the sheep.

wouldn’t want us to be overpaying for him at all.

That was around what Kyogo cost was it not? I think we’ve looked at him, thought he could be handy, enquired either officially or informally about sort of money involved and decided nope, not for us for that money.

Good on Aberdeen for demanding proper fees for their players but, Scottish teams in general have a weak backbone negotiating and accept scraps, because usually the money is desperately needed and they don’t want to * off anybody giving them any.

I’d say in the transfer market these days, I’d be demanding £4m/£5m as well. Would also be saying £6m or £7m to start the bids closer to what you’d actually take. They’d never start with what they’d actually view as an acceptable bid. And there’s other factors like would he be ok with getting an opportunity denied or would he kick up *, and make them accept a move for lower than they wanted. The Moussa Dembele method of negotiating

Probably because they have an American-based owner. Same story with Hibs holding out for seven figures for Melkerson.

I agree that it’s good to see.

that was brilliant from Hibs that, cos he is * and usually itd be a low fee to get him off the wages. It’s slowly creeping into the game up here that other clubs are not just accepting a pittance, and actually resprcting that theres more quality and money to made up here than made out. Neither of them top quality or skyhigh but consistently undervalued for years
