When comparing Oh and Miovski, im not really sure minutes to goals is an effective measure of comparison as a striker in a Celtic team will see far more chances in those minutes to an Aberdeen one.

You could even argue that conversion rate wouldnt be a fair measure either as a celtic striker would probably see more clear cut chances also.

I dont know how accurate these statistics are but

    miovski
    1616 minutes
    53 shots
    21 on target
    10 goals
    2 assists

    Oh
    601 minutes
    39 shots
    16 on target
    5 goals
    0 assist

    edit:

    Of note
    Kvistgaarden
    1330 minutes
    36 shots
19 on target (over half his total shots)
    5 goals
    5 assists

GG didn't score in something like his last 9 or 10 apperances for us either before he left, but people still say he could always be relied on. They both have the same problem, stuck behind Kyogo and can't get a run of games when he's fit. Kyogo getting injured was the making of GG, remember some people wanted him punted ASAP before that happened.

It's the concern I have about any striker we sign going forward, be it Miovski, Shankland or whoever else we're linked with, if they're playing second fiddle to Kyogo, even if they're proven goalscorers elsewhere, the chances of them replicating their goal scoring form when playing a full 90 regularly at other clubs, and 15 minute cameos here, isn't going to be very high.

Why is that, Denzel? Because I don't think a guy who's scored 26 goals in the premiership in 52 games, 9 of which are penalties, isn't 10 times better than a guy who has the best goals to minutes ratio of any Celtic striker in the last twenty years?

Oh has his faults, but he's barely had a chance. Stick him in the Aberdeen team and you see a different player.

Your comment was utter *. I'll stick to football.

I can’t say I’ve seen a lot of Miovski but Oh is underrated by a lot. The guy has a goals to minutes ratio that can’t be argued against. I really like him.

Hard to argue with stats but a lot of Ohs goals have come when games were won-a few goals up and going for blood with the opposition totally worn down.
He just hasn't set the heather on fire for me, even his hold up play is average.
I would take Miovski in a heart beat. OK, hes not likely to take us to the next level but needs must and right now, we are in a * of a battle to retain our title, so I just want someone that knows the SPL and knows how to score goals.

If anything, the goals to minutes ratio prove that Larsson was a better striker than Boyd.

    Try again.

Not sure what the difference is between this thread and the Shankland thread.. yet the Shankland one was locked..

Don't think there's a credible link to either..

This guy does not improve this team.

I'm no fan of Oh, but I'd rather we just give him a shot instead of spunking more money on * like Miovski and Wankland.

Absolutely no chance Aberdeen are letting him go this week.

You don't have a leg to stand on because you've said something idiotic.

Double down because you don't know what you're talking about.

You don't care what others say because you can't discuss or debate.

    Are you Kris Boyd?

Miovski is probably a better fit for Celtic playing style than Shankland for example.
But is he the guy you bring off the bench when struggling to break down the low block and get a goal like GG?, that's where Shankland IS a great option.
But neither are good enough to be first choice Celtic strikers.

As for Oh, forget stats - you just need to watch him, he doesn't even have the most basic football skills - nowhere near the quality we need, even for a reserve striker.
I see Kyogo go off for this guy and my heart sinks.
