We do have money to spend but Balde is getting it all.

Its a simple fact that the SPL make no money. Also due to the coeffecient we have to work harder to get to the champs League last 16.

Look even Rangers can spend more money than us due to the fact that their stupid owner forking out of his own pocket. If he goes the club will be in debt. We run a tight ship and we almost have no bank debt at all

There's no point in getting rid of Balde without bringing in another centre back, as we need plenty of cover, so if we were going to have to pay him off then we'd be as well just keeping him. Obv I'd like to get him off the wage books and bring in a CB, LB or Striker, but the SPL isn't really an ideal playing field for transfers.

Aye Thommo was awful after 2003 with the winning goal in the cup final, winners agin the Huns etc etc..
Remaining when not wanted is a bad thing ffs Keltoi so contracts are not worth the paper they are written on?
Ye talk about relics anol and then forget that Pressley was picked ahead of him continuously..Ye talk about greed and then welcome back Maloney with open arms and i have no problem with Maloney coming back btw but the contradiction puzzles me.

We have no idea what the Birmingham/wolves/WBA offer is,what add ons are included etc etc but are happy to believe the media's line on this despite them having a history of getting it badly wrong where Celtic's financial dealings are concerned. This nonsense that his wage is stopping us bringing in players is typical Celtic plc spin.He isn't..We are a wealthy club who loaded up a player's contract as we did with Lambert,Henrik and others ...We tried the same * with Burley, trying to push him out and ended up paying him exactly what his contract was worth....Balde didn't want to leave Toulouse to join us,it took months to get him,we are in a financial position to get rid of him so if we want to break his contract,we should pay it...Get it done Celtic

One paper today is suggesting he refused a move as celtic want a confidentiality clause that he cant speak about his time at celtic.

Hardly paints the club in a good light in this instance. what could he possibly say apart from "i wasnt given a chance.."

    interesting

It was the boards mistake but Bobo is taking full advantage. We do know that Celtic put him on a free which indirectly would bring him bigger wages as he would be like a Bosman if he moved, a sort of trade off. But..he wanted his contract bought out as well which to me is being pretty unreasonable. Bobo just seems like the most extreme case of putting a little more money but no football ahead of almost as much money and regular football. I like to think players are sportmen and athletes and have some of the old spirit and drive to contend so I find Bobo's stance extreme. But..I do agree if all else fails we should buy him out because its leaving a very bad taste in the mouth and better to get closure on even if its costly.

really?15 or 16 goals in 03/04 campaign in 30 odd appearances
04/05 played way over 40 times and scored 11 goals

But don't let the facts get in the way of your ongoing revisionism of MON's regime.

And it can quite easily be argued that he was another player who got on the wrong side of Strachan over the pre-season commitments row when he was sent home with a non existant thigh injury.

If you think Pressley was a player who fits in with our "style" than that's a sad indictment indeed for these times...As for Thompson being an inferior player than Maloney, ludicrous thoughts indeed for a young unproven player if those were his ,but that's just supposition on your part and a neat way of sidestepping the question that was put to you about you can diffentiate between different forms of greed.

You have no idea if it would bring him bigger wages, only Balde and mebbe Lawwel do,who knows what his actual basic would be and what add ons are contained in any offer that was put to him.His contract does apparently say that there is a loyalty bonus to be paid and if he didn't ask for a move he is entitled to that payment like Burley was.We played silly buggers then and we are doing it now.

I don't blame Balde for staying.

After seeing McManus pitiful performance yesterday Bobo must be thinking " *, he's getting a game before me

Balde would have snapped cousin in two within 15 minutes.

Instead McManus pats him on the back after his red card
