its a pretty sure bet he wont retire next summer and short of signing for rangers he would need to take a 90% pay cut to play for another team in Scotland. There comes a time when a player needs to realise they are no longer wanted and this is the third season now where it has been clear he is not wanted.

We are a possession style team and he cant pass. He was shocking in the pre-season games both defensively and by the fact that every time he got the ball he gave it straight back to the oppositiion.

Sorry Keltoi but that is not accurate, Balde played as well if not better than anyone else in pre-season. The whole team couldn’t pass the ball to each other with any accuracy and no one was immune to making basic mistakes. The only decent game we played was against Feyenord as for the rest of pre season performances were forgettable.

If you want to just single out Balde for having a poor pre season, then I think that is very selective. Ok he made two poor mistakes one he recovered from and one that led too a goal being conceded. However that scenario went for Hinkel, Caldwell, Odea and Mick amongst others aswell.

    At what ?

Must be wi' the wimmin eh?:56:

    Caldwell couldnae polish his boots.

Bobo should be first choice every week. Give him a good strong partner and we'd be world beaters.... and no I don't mean McManus.

never read so much rubbish in my life.
Move and play for 5 grand less a week' no one would do that if they did not need to.

Bobo is there on contract' he will play if asked to do so' no way is it his fault that he is in the reserves.

He was put in the reserves to make him leave'he decided not to' now celtic are paying him approx £30k a week to sit in the reserves.
Its not bobo whose to blame but the management. wgs has a proven defender in bobo and if he decides not to include him in the first team you cant blame bobo.

99% of players would move to play 1st team football for roughly the same money.

1 year on 28k+5k for app is less than 2 years on 22-25k. Changing club is worth more but bobo wants to be paid off rather than just move. He is a money grabbing * that I've no time for. I'll celebrate the day that he leaves because he is nothing but a *.

This thread goes around in circles.

The fact of the matter is - we offered Bobo the contract he's on - for whatever reason (it's irrelevant). I know he had options to leave etc part way through his original contract so we don;t need to rehash this.

We don't know what he's been offered elsewhere, so don't know if he's a money grabbing *. I'd personally be happy if he goes, as WGS is not going to play him. I'd rather see his wages freed up to strengthen the team.

But what's for sure is Bobo is happy here, I know for a fact his kids are settled here and he has the right to see out his contract.

Talking about the guys state of mind etc is utter bullshit. Let's see what happens before the transfer window closes before slating Bobo any more for a situation Celtic put themselves in.

He has agreed to move if gets offered similar wages. Celtic arent even asking for a transfer fee. Birmingham have offered similar wages but he is stalling. This is all fact.

Dempsey - would that not suggest he's not money grabbing - otherwise he would take the improved contract offered by BC??

I am with you on this one that I want him to go, but I believe there are more issues to it than just financial - family etc.

As I said this is all about opinions / conjecture - lets see what the end of the transfer window holds - and hopefully Bobo will have gone.
