He's the best centre half at the club.

Bobo came in at Tannadice and stopped the 13 months of conceding at least one goal in every away game...couple of weeks later , dropped out of site , I look forward to reading what the big guy has to say

As previously stated, Bobo was offered a contract and has thus far honoured it, deciding to reject potential moves which is entirely his perogative.Frozen out of the first team for honouring a contract the PLC signed, sealed and delivered, apparently rejecting moves due to PLC`s insistence on confidentiallity clause(costing a fortune in wages but clause obviously of more value - why?), perhaps Bobo is more principled than most of The Failthful believe and genuinely does love Celtic. He has been treated shabbily to say the least.I too remember Christmas 07 when he came in from the cold and gave us our first clean sheet away from home in over a year. I know one thing - if he`d been playing at Pittodrie last week, we wouldn`t have conceded THOSE 4. Not all of us toe the party line Big Man! Hail!Hail!

    110% correct Beechmountbhoy.

If you joined the 2 impostors ( you know the 2 I mean) together you could not make a Bobo.

He was offered the same money to go to Brum..

He wants the £1m loyalty payoff.

    *..

Then again, Strachan is a * for not playing him.

Confidentially agreements are standard when any player leaves any club.

Dont be fooled by this excuse.

What we are seeing is a man who is using any excuse available to stall on leaving so that he can squeeze every last penny he can out of us.

Do you have an understanding of Employment Law and E.Ts aswell as an understanding of Strachans Key Roles & Responsibilities ?

No, mate I dont think that is the case, do you think the players union would accept that confidetiality agreements as the norm. where is any evidence of this. I'm in a fortunate position to know a couppla pro footballers and this is not the norm at all.

I aint really fighting Bobos corner on this but I do think he is being lambasted without people knowing both sides of the story.

I totally agree mate about the point you made about him being lambasted, and i for one think there is something more to this than meets the eye, why are celtic desperate to get him to sign the agreement, there has to be something there , as they could have just gave him a pay off, but they didnt and the big man has always been availiblefor selection and did everything he has been asked to do, so i really dont get why they are treating him this way especially when you look at the state of our defence this season we could def have used him. i dont know what has happened and i dont think we will find out till the end of the end of the season and we may never find out, but i for one would be delighted to find out the truth.

Of course I am not professionally qualified to comment on either in a professional capacity but I am offering opinion based on what has been circulated to the public. Everyone knows WGS job was to get the wage bill down and that has been quoted in the media quite a few times because he has actually done it. Fact is that any layman knows that an employer cannot just force you out of the door nowadays.

At the end of the day I am only offering an opinion just like any other forum poster, it's just that my opinion is not what you want to hear. I didn't see you jumping down on Hammers post when he stated this 'Strachan wanted him off the wage bill, he knew that. So he treated him like a reserve and has done ever since'. Does he know what Strachan wanted first hand? And no offense to Hammer, I was merely using this as an example

That is the major problem with this forum. If anyone criticizes the board, team, manager, tea lady then they are made to feel like idiots and their opinions rubbished. The sad fact is the team have been traveling downhill now for the last three seasons.

I know that there will be people who will come out now and cite the league titles and CL last 16 but look deeper than that. We have a team that is largely based around SPL players and people bought on the cheap. The current policy is to sign youth players. That is all well and good whilst Rankers are on the back foot but it won't be the case for ever.

In addition we are being found at at CL level now, the fact is if we want to get into the last 16 next year or even the last 8 as the board tell us they want then we need decent players. I am not WGS biggest fan but he has at times worked wonders with what he has, that is not in doubt but lets get one thing straight, Harry Potter he is not.

My criticisms of him come in the form of playing people out of position, leaving out decent players and failing to secure players for positions we really need.

Sorry, I completely disagree with you, confidentiality clauses are common place. This was confirmed by Pat Nevin, a respectable pundit and someone who has experience in being an activist in the Players Union.
The whole point about the Confidentiality clause doesnt matter anyway, as Celtic agreed to waive this in August in an attempt to speed up his proposed transfer to Birmingham.
So what did Bobo do after Celtic waived the Clause? He decided that he wanted a share of any CL bonuses the First Team would receive from the coming campaign, and he wanted any Club fines since signing repaid to him.
This was well documented at the time, and was also discussed in threads on TC.
In summary, anytime Bobo's demands were met, he came up with a new condition.

New regime & new club policies. 99% of players that know they arent wanted, they leave.

Football isnt the same as any other job, he's a multi millionaire. He's been offered a slightly less money but revive his career. He's a money grabbing * that reneged on his promise to leave during the summer.

You two seem to support Bobo more than Celtic...

tooo little too late in my opinion, hes been sponging off this club for almost two seasons. i would of made the * work in the club shop or cust the grass, get some use out of him. If he had left when he realised he was out of favour he would of been fondly remembered but now all i will think of when anyone mentions him is the fact hes a money grabbing *.

................... and the sending off against porto

I did not know that this was the case mate, so I will bow to your superior knowledge on the matter.

My thoughts now have obviously changed. The footballers I know do not play at the top level, but when we have dicussed Bobo they seem to think that ther is more to it, or so they have heard through the grapevine.

Have Celtic stopped paying Balde's wages? Does Balde have a clause in his contract to guarantee him First Team football ?

Sorry, I thought Strachans job was as a first team coach.
If Strachan thinks that Balde has no part to play in his first team plans, then it becomes someone elses job to see that the player is sold.
No-one person has responsibility for driving the wage bill down.

You can post any opinion that you wish, just as I can post any reply. What I don't like is when peoples opinions are skewed and misinformed.
In Strachans position as first team coach its pretty obvious that if someone who plays no part in his plans is preventing the signing of new players because of the huge wage, then its in the Clubs best interest that that wage is freed up by moving on the player.

If you dont like Talk Celtic, then dont let the door bang you on the * on the way out !
