For a start no one's talking about Tom Boyd OR Rab Douglas, so forget that.

Surely you wouldnt have varga and cuthbert or virgo and caldwell, rather than Bobo and McManus, the pairing who struck up a very good understanding last year? By the end of last season the two of them were automatic picks for a reason mate, can you not see that? Kennedy has a lot of ground to make up, not forgetting a new manager to impress, playing wise, so i doubt he'll feature much this season. Although i can see him improving to the point of getting chased by Premiership clubs, fingers crossed.

I think you just stick to your guns for the sake of argument, some of the sentences and the facts that the people on this board have written for you must have made you realise for even a split second that Bobo is not as bad as you persist on labelling him.

And i dare say im not the only one who thinks so, what does that tell you?

Tells me I am in the minority, and in this case the minority is right.
Dream all you want Balde is NOT the answer for the upcoming CL, and in due course this WILL be evident!

    Who's saying he's CL class? Who's even saying he's a great defender?

Still ignoring the point i was making? lol The point is you ignore the facts, clutch at straws and eventually forget that there's nothing worng with letting go and admitting 'ok, maybe ive been over the top, he IS our best CB'

Great defender, LoL, listen go back and get a few tapes of games Balde played in, and study them, I have tapes of Celtic games, then come back and tell me he is a good defender and player.
Balde gives more balls to the opposition, than he gives to his own players, when clearing, and I dont mean short Lennon type passing, that does not count.
Tell me how many stupid fouls he gives away around the penalty box or in it.
Tell me how many times he puts his own players at danger by near running through them, Sutton for example.
Tell me how many times he badly hurts an opponent unecessarily, and that by the way is NOT fitba.
Tell me how often he does well at our Corners for or against, and watch the games, no bullshit!
Watch and tell me how good his left foot is, and how well he controls a ball.
Tell me when he goes on a run upfield, how often something consructive happens, other than watching a large well built, player in a hooped shirt going nowhere like the hammers of *.
Bring him on, he WILL blunder, and the snag is, it WILL be a crucial game.
Remember the UEFA Cup Final, for me thats the most memorable, however NOT the only blunder!

Balde wins almost everything is the air so your comments about corners are bullshit :87:

Please read squire_2's post again. Especially the Who's saying he's CL class? Who's even saying he's a great defender? bit. it was a question, not a statement.

Bet he doesnt, go watch the games, and where does the ones you mention go, unless your talking about straight on up the park balls?
Balde is very poor at Celtic given corners, McManus already is streets ahead there.
Marvin Andrews won most of his balls in the air, but he is not my king of central defender, beytter than Balde though, less fuckups, by far.

Do you sit and go through tapes of old Celtic games in order to add to your already vast amount of reasons for labelling Bobo Balde the worst defender on the planet (or what i imagine you think of him)? * sake, thats pretty sad. I like to watch old games when i get the chance, but not to sit and criticise our players, but to enjoy reliving good moments in the history of my beautiful club.

All your doing is delving into your blue peter barrier comments which means you are not actually capable of seeing any reason whatsoever on this argument. BB has made plenty of mistakes, a good few crucial ones, and has also struck fear into many many opponents with his provocative presence in the heart of our defence, made plenty of good challenges and more excellent, defensively SKILFUL match-saving tackles than he has match/goal-costing ones.

Come on Hubert, show me a glimpse of realisation that not everything our best defender does is of a negative nature!!

    Are you one?
To me anyone that would put Celtic in jeopardy by suggesting playing Balde has to anti Celtic, therefor possibly a Rangers fan in duisguise!

This is Balde on Sky Sports

"Stilian Petrov is a good player and he's got good quality," Balde told Sky Sports News.

"He's been here for nine years - this is his ninth year - and I think that it's not the right time for him to leave.
"He has to stay and help us to win the league and get through the UEFA Champions League group stage so I would recommend the club to keep him."
Having lived in Scotland for five years, Frenchman Balde is aware of the lift a Champions League run would give Celtic supporters, and he is hoping this is the season they can finally deliver in Europe.
"If you know the story of the club you know this is a big club, like the story about the country as well, and I like the mentality of these people," he said.
"I think that Celtic deserve to be in the Champions League every single year and not just in the Champions League but they deserve to pass the first group stage. "And hopefully we will do this year."

Bobo's the man and he's comin back to prove people like you wrong.
