Oh your keyboard warrior type eh? Better than smarmy listen to yourself.

As for the question which is STILL yet to be answered. All you did was acknowledge it was a hypothetical question and refuse to answer it because your not in the know. I didn't ask if you knew what was going on behind the scenes. I asked if you are of the opinion Rodgers hasn't identified defensive targets to chase?

You keep side stepping it because fundamentally you know soon as you aknowledge it's likely he has identified defensive targets then the blame lies with the board. Quite simple really. If you believe it's likely Rodgers identified defenders to chase then the board is at fault for a lack of CB. And the alternative is you think Rodgers doesn't have a clue what cb to sign and he is all to blame. If you honestly believe Rodgers hasn't identified any potential defenders then fair enough but I'd argue it's a very naive take on the situation

    What's not to believe?

If the agent was lying, then Celtic would have confronted that particular slur, no?

Also, Celtic have been WELL known over the years to * about with first team player contracts.

We lost Ledley because we * about with his contract did we not. I'm not excusing boyata or his aganets actions, but wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if his comments were true.

    :56::56::56::56:

I've gave you ONE example where Rodgers stated HE identified a player HE wanted and a player HE got - Jack Hendry.

Also, I've forgotten about Kolo Toure - who Rodgers WANTED.

So clearly he HAS signed players that HE wanted, although they have been *.

As for your desperate need for a reply to your hypothetical question (which you still don't have the capacity to understand it was answered), you're asking for a reply to a question I am not privvy to the answer.

Tell me then smart *, how many defenders do YOU think he has identified and how many of them hasn't he got?

We have lost many players because we * about with their contracts.

I just about remember the player your talking about. It's a fair point. We had a loose rumour we had been looking at that schar too. That I could see being a option Brendan would chase. That being said, we have operated quietly with signings over the last few seasons

Some excellent posts in here but this one really hits the nail on the head. Although Brendan certainly has his flaws i would be more inclined to blame our current situation on the board than him. Over the years they've shown themselves to have interests which aren't in line with the fans. A club the size of ours, with the resources we have and with the domestic situation being as it currently is we should reasonably expect the club to be winning the league comfortably (which we have done but last season was a bit worrying at times) qualifying for the CL with maybe the occasional slip up (which we sometimes do but is never as comfortable as it should be) and being able to give a respectable account of ourselves in the group stages which is where they show themselves up for what they are.

As has been talked about to death on here they only significantly strengthen the team when we're in the * domestically and then we improve for a while until we inevitably stagnate close to the level of our nearest challengers. When BR was appointed i think many of us thought that would be changing as a big name manager like Brendan wouldn't put up with their * but it appears the powers that be are back up to their usual tricks. For the above reasons i don't think we'll ever reach our full potential as a club, regardless of who the manager is until the current board are chased.

Now they're possibly putting the 10 at risk by not strengthening the team from last season. The justification for this will be "well we won the treble" which is great but dig a bit deeper and its clear that there are warning signs that if we don't address the issues in the team we could well be up * creek before we know it. We can either take heed of the warning signs now and take action or wait until we stagnate further until we do something, knowing this board i fear it will be the latter.

I think some fans need to stop acting like spoilt brats and get on with it , so were in teh Europa hardly the end of the world is it ? back to back 7iarow trebles and still some fans not happy cos we miss out on champions league for a season ?

Domestic to take care of again so that we get the chance to put right next season and a decent run in europa if we bring in some siginings.

I personally feel the schar rumour was just that. A rumour. And the only reason it was made was because it would have made perfect sense to go after him.

Rodgers time here and at Liverpool makes me believe he just isn't that good at signing defenders or sorting his defence. Because he relies solely on attacking football he lets the defensive side fall by the wayside. It'll never change imo and is just one of the very few flaws he has.

    I actually think the worst
Example of a * about with a player was asking Rivaldo who was interested in coming to do a trial first..... Absolute * * take that writing was on the wall then by all accounts from lawell

It doesn't bother me that we never made the champions league. It's the manner in which we failed to strengthen from a position of strength that makes me angry. All 3 goals we conceded against a weakened AEK side were our on defensive errors and could have been avoided if we got the finger out and signed a Rb and CB

Jackie McNamara is one of the worst I can recall.

Club captain, Lawwell * about with offers of £5k p/w playing on his love for the club, * off.

Actually heard Rodgers identified shcar.... Rodgers needs to come out and say and confirm this because that puts him out of the * in my opinion.... Identified defender 3m5 release clause so is achievable.... So if the board turned their nose at that then they are bang to rights

I get your feeling on that but Jackie was getting on a bit only have to look at his time at wolves afterwards...... Rivaldo went onto first team and still score goals for olympiakos lawells biggest problem is he can't meet people in the middle his way or the highway

Ah now your trying to change the question. We are quite clearly discussing this transfer window. We are talking about the possibility Brendan has identified targets the board hasn't acted on. So what's toure got to do with anything? I cannot see why you can't get your ahead around the fact, am not asking if you are in the know. Am asking do you honestly believe a manager as intellectual as our bredan hasn't looked at the situation and thought we need a CB. Do you honestly believe Brendan hasn't got a few ideas as to who he wants in? That's basically what you seem to be saying. You initially pointed out that Brendan is to blame as much as the board, I don't buy into that at all.

Keep hiding behind this excuse I can't answer that question because I don't know what happens behind the scenes.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes myself but I can still be of the opinion bredan would have identified targets. Its quite logical, a manager manages his team, when a weakness shows itself the manager acts to resolve the weakness. It fairly obvious stuff. Why would a football manager not wish to resolve the weaknesses in his starting 11. Tbh the fact you believe there is a possibility Brendan hasn't identified potential signings for the cb position is ridiculous and pretty much insulting to a superb manager.

On the other hand, why wouldn't a board act on it? Penny pinching - a more likely scenario than bredan showing blind Faith in a threadbare defence lacking the required standard

Just realised 5k that's poor its not as if he was a youth 7. 5 k and I bet Jackie would have signed not quite the ten k but it's sure not the 5k either

Every successful sports team or business should be looking not just at the results it achieves, but how it performs in achieving those results, what it did right, what it did wrong, and what was just plain old random chance.

We bury our heads in the sand about how poorly handled this window has been, how badly equipped we are defensively, and why we persistently leave it until late summer to strengthen, and we’re setting ourselves up to fail. Whether that failure comes now or later is anyone’s guess, because luck is a huge factor, but if we don’t address the issues we’re clearly faced with it will come.

That doesn’t mean we’re in a ‘crisis’, but to say that back to back trebles mean we aren’t facing some obvious vulnerabilities, and in some cases just poor operational decisions, is naive imo.

Both, can't just assume the board are giving him the lesser picks all the time, he's got a big say in these signings.

It's a myth that Rodgers' weakness is the transfer market; look at his signings for his previous clubs - Gylfie Sigurdsson at Swansea, for a start. Liverpool raised eye brows, but it's well known they had a transfer panel who could overrule the manager.
