Thats true ,if McGeady played down there for say Spurs and Everton or the likes came for him ,they would be looking at 15 million to start with ,we know its different up here but if Birmingham want him that badly Celtic should slap 9-10 million on him to see if there serious about him ,,Celtic pay over inflated prices for Scottish players up here ,so turn it around and call there bluff ,thats if McGeady wants to go of course.

He has 4 goals already this season, not progressing? He is one of our best if not the best player we have.

This is not aimed at you but others in this thread, why is it that McGeady gets so much * from his own fans? You may say he is overrated, but he's much further ahead of any of our other class acts currently. Do people still resent the fact that he's not playing for Scotland?

I would say McGeady hasn't progressed, he can't cross or shoot and often runs down blind alleys and against top level opposition(Arsenal, France, Italy etc.) he looks out of his depth. It's nothing to do with him playing for Eire(most celts fans probably prefer that he does) but more that he looks like going down the route of guys like Fulton+Creaney who initially promised lots but ultimately faded away.

Has it ever occurred to you that McGeady might taken on many people by himself because none of our strikers are ever in position to score? His crossing has actually improved this season. The problem is that Samaras wants to play winger and McDonald often times has no positional sense and is always offside. As for McGeady's shooting, he has scored 4 times already this season and has actually improved that part of his game greatly.

If we are to sell him then we would need to use some of the money to replace him because IMO McGinn or McCourt aren’t the answer from what I have seen of them!

I've been impressed with McGinn, I think he could fill in if McGeady was sold, McGeady is obviously the better player but if the money was used to invest in the team then I'd take it.

I'd prefer it if we kept all of our best players, but sometime you just have to sell.

I like Aiden but I feel a move is the right thing for him now.

It's better all round for everyone if he goes to the EPL for 7-8million.

I hope that he does really well as he's a grand player, just not getting it done here for some reason.

mcgeady`s end product is * poor! and he tries to take on too many players loses the ball and greets! unless he punts that out of his game? then it wouldnt bother me if we sell if hime? but none the less i would take no less than 7m for him.

Havn't seen enough of him to really make my mind up but from what i have seen, for me he looks like a very ordinary player that has a bit of pace about him, something similar to Driver at Hearts imo.

Everyone's wise to Aiden now, he can still beat a lot of players but teams prepare for this and his tricks are all the same - I'd take £7m for him right now as I think the times right to punt him and spend the cash on a decent CB and Striker, this would put us in a much better position and this would give McGinn a chance to step up to the plate.

McGeady To EPL-No! Sort out Laurel and Hardy!

McGeady on his day -is a joy to watch! It doesn't help that the refs have it in for him this season- 'diving and petulance' seems to be what he gets booked/sent off for.
I would keep McGeady as he has flair- at the moment we need to address the back 2 Centre Backs - Laurel and f***ing Hardy! Who no surprise f***ed it up for Scotland against Wales as well!

You claim his crossing+shooting have improved but more often than not he hits the 1st man or puts a cross straight out and his shooting is neither accurate nor strong. Whether he has improved or not doesn't really matter because in those particular skills he still does not come up to scratch. If you have no end product as a winger then all you are doing is running around with a ball at your feet, ultimately.

Do any of our wingers have an end product? Might that point towards our lack of quality strikers as being the problem? If we had a big man like JVOH when he was good, a quarter of McGeady's crosses would be headed in.

I genuinely worry for us if we sell McGeady and I'm not being melodramatic.

It's easy enough to say 'sell him for 7 and buy someone better for 3' but unfortunately that's not the way it works. If McGeady played for an EPL side he'd be worth twice what is being touted because that's the premium a footballer with the ability to beat players with ease commands. Guys like Milner, Bentley, Lennon and Wright-Phillips are not 2 times the footballer that Aiden is yet they all cost tens of millions in transfers.

we need to keep mcgeady, and offload the crap in our team. if we are selling mcgeady for 7 or 8 million to buy two or 3 players, we are either going to get average players to add to the very average players we have bought in the last couple of years. or taking a chance on a couple of youngsters that will probably take a couple of years to develop to be as good as mcgeady.

if we have to generate cash from sales we should sell the crap, mcgeady is the last player I would like to see leave and the only circumstance where he should be left go is if he comes out and says he wants to go.
