i disagree pal the reason Ronaldo left Utd was down to the fact he himself wanted to leave same with Kaka as far as im aware McGeady is really happy at Celtic so we really have no need to sell him! we sure as * wont improve if we sell him.

We have to remain realistic, if Birmingham City £14 Mil or more we really need to think about selling Aiden. The money is simply not in the SPL and never will be, if we want to challenge the Huns and get our place in the CL we need to think about that old phrase " Having your eggs all in the one basket ", what would happen if Aiden was injured, we'd have to bring in Mc Ginn or someone else, so let's not dismiss such a huge amount of cash.

My biggest fear is that our board will sell him and don't re-invest in the team, or invest less than what was brought in on out going transfers. Just think about all those left winger targets we've been linked with recently, no smoke without fire as far as I'm concerned.

Im with Dempsey here, i just think we cannot say no to that kind of money. Even if Mcgeady does stay injury free, what if he loses form? We have to go down the Ajax route if we want long term success. We cannot afford to gamble with that kind of money involved.

The day we do that, I will be over the moon. Good players like a revolving door. Creates great excitement to be honest. Get two season out a player then sell them then get another 2 season out his replacement.

Right now selling him would not be wise as with a very short limited window to replace him the time the deal went through it would be even more silly season in terms of what clubs want for their players.
Also being honest reports of 14 million seem to be an imaginary figure unless Alex Mcleish is getting desperate due to so many snubs this window already.

I don't think we'll sell him, he is very hard to replace & has made improvement under Mowbray & will continue to do so.

If offered 20millions we would need to sell, but not less.

EPL clubs are asking (& getting) outragious prices for pish like Babel, Keane, Crouch etc.. we shouldn't sell ourselves short.

If we sold him now we'd regret it, he'll command 20 million nearer the end of his contract & if he leaves now, we'll struggle without him.

Robson is gone, which I hope means McGinn will go onto the RW - we have no-one else ready to replace Aiden.

There is no chance he'll be going for that amount or in this transfer window, that is fairly transparent from the outside looking in. Unless he himself and the board have a massive change of heart within the space of a couple of weeks he's here til the summer at the least.

I think it would have to be 10 million plus for him to move .

To be fair Mogga had already said he would build a team around him. Hes going nowhere, especially not this transfer window as we don't have sufficient time to find a replacement and most likely not for a few years.

I just hope he continues to progress if we do in fact knock back silly money for him (by that I mean 14million odds) as there is a chance he could have a poor next season and go backwards in terms of development. We would once have got silly money for Boruc but that would be unlikely now.

lets be real here , no one is worth 14 million , prices for players are so inflated that i beggars belief , i myself would sell mcgeady tomorrow if we got a bid of 8 million or more , i dont think he will get any better , the things that will make him look better will be that we will have better and more skillfull , i dont doubt mcgeadys ability but he is not consistant enough , we have mcginn , mccourt that can replace him maybe not as talented but the other players around them will help , i am sorry but if we have a bid of 8 million for him sell him , my opinion before everyone starts .

The only thing that worries me is that Birmingham come in with a bid that is too good to turn down, but they do it on the last day of the window and it's to late for us to spend the cash. If that is the case we could struggle to win the league.

i can see your point, but i highly doubt that we could sign anyone with any where near as much ability as mcgeady for us, who would be willing to play in the spl, who will give there all every game, and who doesnt mind being paid an average to poor wage. And with mogga at the helm i highly doubt we would be able to sign any good talent IMO
