I wouldn't sell him at all in January, if those figures were still being thrown around in the summer then yes, but it's too risky to sell him in January imo.

In an ideal world yes. But will the 14 million still be there at the end of the season? They might bring someone else in. He may lose form, or get a bad injury. Celtic are not in a position to gamble when money like this is involved. I would love Mcgeady to stay but 14 million is a * of a lot. It wasn't so long ago that would have been a british or even world record transfer fee.

He should stay and improve certain parts of his game. If he does, he will have better offers than Birmingham in the future

14m is alot of money indeed but whether or not we will even get to spend all the money generated from his sale is another thing. yes we will be able to buy a few decent players but no one near the same league as McGeady.

£14M is more like what we should be looking for regards McGeady, £8M was a joke, Portsmouth want £14M for Kaboul and he's awful. I wouldn't sell him anyway, who would we get to replace him? we'd probably just end up with 2-3 players that aren't as good.

i think we shouldn't sell aiden in this transfer window! even if we get offered 14 mill!

we got him on a long contract. he loves the club. he wants to stay and play in the hoops. we should take advantage of that. we should keep him another 18 months or so, get to be the dominant force in spl (with him leading the way). get into the champs league every year. that way we will earn more than the amount offered by b'ham (besides even if they offer 14 mill it will not be all in cash, and all of it will not be spent on reinforcements).

we should give aiden another season or two in europe so that bigger, wealthier clubs can notice him. that way (imo) we will be in a win win position selling him for even more money and being in a much better position when selling (than we are now).

I'd reject 14 the now but would let him go for less in the summer. He is crucial for the league this year. He has been nothing short of amazing since the team have started to gel.

14million is mental money 10 million is crazy money 8million is about right!!! McGeady is a class act in Scotland, will be just above average in the EPL, doesn't do enough will his final ball. we are lucky to have him at celtic and in Scotland. Board would be stupid to knock back 8million or more. will benefit the team as a whole if we can bring in two further 4million players.

ffs why the * would we even consider selling our best player? this is why we wont ever go anywhere because the moment someone offers us decent money we go crazy and bite there hand off.

I don't think he will either. I don't even think any sensible bid will come to fruition tbh.

If it really is 14 million (which i doubt by the way) then that is more than decent money. Thats crazy money for an SPL player. You would be lucky to get that for Messi if he was playing in the spl week in week out.

do we really need to go down that route where we become a selling club how on earth are we going to improve the standard of our play and improve in Europe if we sell our best players.

We shouldn't cash in on McGeady though to fund other signings. We should get rid of all the deadwood 1st and then see where we are at. We are not in debt like rangers are and can afford to knock back offers. If people want to see Celtic become a dominant force in europe again we can't keep selling our best players every time someone comes in with a decent bid. Who would we get to replace McGeady if he went? Even for £14m you'll struggle to get a player of his quality never mind trying to get them to play in the SPL.

All clubs would sell their best players if the price was right. Look at Ronaldo and Kaka last year. I would agree if i thought Mcgeady was the difference in us winning and losing this title, but im not fully convinced he is. If we were talking about a certain Mr Larsson then that would be a different story.
