he's been here 3 years now - when will people learn he isn't good enough. It doesn't take a foreigner 3 years to settle in so how can a player from this country not settle. As I said on page 1 fans can't describe Brown without using the words 'grit, determination and hunger'. He gets booked all the time cos he's a * idiot and he let us down in February against rangers, a game the club, manager and fans needed to win. He can * off imo - You can't polish a * - he is * *.

How many assists has he got?

Lambert was the definition of a holding defensive midfielder and still had more of a goal threat from distance i.e. 40 yarder against the huns at Parkhead, Brown has been billed a 'box-to-box midfield dynamo' and we've all been told to wait on him producing season after season.

He's had so many partners and it hasn't worked because "he" is *. Remember back in 07/08 when Strachan decided to drop him and go with a Hartley/Robson combo. We won the league.

I will admit Brown has been playing a lot better recently, but I still don't see what he brings to team other than energy/drive/dig, which frankly just sound like meaningless buzzwords at this stage.

His passing and shooting is poor most games, and if it's not going our way he loses his composure far too easily and is very rash with his tackling.

Now that we have Kayal, Juarez, Ledley and Ki who are all better footballers, and I'd say Kayal and Juarez at least match his energy levels, he simply shouldn't be first pick, he's keeping all round better players out of the team, even if he is captain that's just not on.

What did you like about Lambert that you don't like about Brown?

Probably the fact that Lambert was a great footballer who could pass, tackle, go forward, sit back, break up play, hit a great shot and step upto the plate in big games. Scott Brown is basically the anti-Paul Lambert. He's mince.

I certainly don't bill him as that and i'm not a kid that goes by assists either or riduculous stats.

Brown is there to break up attacks and drive the team forward which he has been doing brilliantly in the SPL. If he was a box to box dynamo, we wouldn't be playing with two wingers in every game would we?

Yes, Lambert had a fair shot on him but didn't score near the amount of goals that Burley did, so it was obvious what he was there to do. I loved Lambert and he's a lot better than Brown but they had/have similar duties when playing in a Celtic jersey.

My next question. Why isn't there a Joe Ledley thread? He's played several games in midfield now and done absolutely nothing.

yes we should slate a guy who has played about 5 competitive games, 2 of which not in his natural position:97::rolleyes: Brown has done * all for this club for 3 seasons, not 5 games. I feel Ledley has been good the past 2 SPL games imo.

Lambert's passing was nothing special by the way. He played the short ball game which I like anyway. He didn't get forward much but yes, he was a better attacker than the likes of Lennon.

I've already said he had a better shot than Brown. Lambert's a Celtic great though and Brown isn't. I'm not comparing abilities but I am comparing their positions and I'm asking how many goals a season Lambert scored.

Why would you have to be a kid to base a midfielders ability to score or create goals on assists and goals scored? :97:

There isn't a Joe Ledley thread because he is playing as a left back and hasn't been at Celtic for over 3 seasons scoring a handful of goals as a centre mid.

I don't think there should be threads at all after Sunday's game. I just don't get why Brown has been much better and getting singled out.

Fed up saying this but he didn't play last season ffs. When he did come back to fitness, we won every game.

The season before, he was the best player in Scotland.

His first season, he was alright but nothing special.

when Brown tries to play the short ball game the player on the receiving end of the car either has to chest it to control it or have the speed of Usain Bolt to get his missplaced effort.

Is that what you really think? Even watch the highlights again of the Motherwell game and you'll see him make some nice passes. Remember the build up to Hooper's goal v Utrecht?

I love the way the haters over-look these things. Fans are like sheep.

Aye, Lenny, Burley, WGS, Mowbray, Smith, McLeish, Levein and the next manager that wants to sign him. It's amazing how these guys are wrong but this lot on here are correct:rolleyes:

    is this a wind-up?

Lambert was better than Brown in almost every department, except maybe bouncing off people like he's on a pinball table.

    There's no comparison.
