Aye but he's a footballer, we don't want him ruining his prized possessions :50:

He's obviously done brilliantly with Croatia and is well thought off but he has no experience of managing club football, so we have no idea what he would be like in the transfer market, as with all the possibilities there are certain risks involved, there's no guarantee he'd be an automatic saviour for us.

He's a great man-manager, brilliant tactics and full of enthusiasm. He's also the fans favourite and if successful would probably be universally adored by the support, so personally I'd take that chance.

We'd stop punting balls in the box all the time, that's a start. And transfer market-he'll just bring 2-3 of his NT guys, everyone happy!

Yeah I can see the positives of getting him in no problem, I'm just saying as with everything else there would be no guarantees that it would be fool proof.

Exactly - The only negative is that he hasn't managed at club level, however I don't see that as an issue. He has the enthusiasm for it. He is very intelligent (has a degree in Law, speaks 4 languages), he's a born winner, he's a motivator, a man manager, he has tremendous knowledge of the game, his team play attractive football - the Celtic way. He is a huge personality, he will attract good players. He has excellent links in Eastern Europe (Where players are often very technically gifted and come reasonably cheap which will interest Lawwell). He is a good talker (like Martin O'Neill), he will create a buzz even when things aren't going 100% to plan. HE WILL SELL 54,000 SEASON TICKETS!

I agree. It would be a risk as he's never managed at club level and he's doing well with Croatia because they've got world class players. Give him Venegoor of Hesselink for a week and he'll know what'* him!! We need a manager to turn things round quickly and win the league next season, we don't have time for him to adapt to the scottish game or club level!

Agreed. I can't think of anyone tbh apart ftom bilic. The players he could attract is a major plus sign and it seems he can get the best out of his players coz croatia dont have the best in the world, bar a few gems. So lets get it done asap.

i would say Bilic carries less risk than the other candidates.

Coyle, the favourite, lacks any real experience. he will probably do a Mowbray and be found out in the top flight. as for Mowbray himself, everyone bangs on about how great his teams play football...but what has that ever achieved? yes, WBA got promoted. however, they got relegated without a whimper.

on the other hand, Bilic has guided his team to a semi final of an international competition and improved his country tremendously from where he found it.

I think the fans would get right behind Billic through thick and thin and that would blow out of the water all of the "Celtic fans dont like Gordon because he is not a celtic man" rubbish we were having before.

Didn't see him fancying the SPL but if he does the deal should be done immediately. Surely the board can see this guy getting us a bit more excited than Mark McGhee!
