i think i speak for the majority of celtic supporters when i say that we had glaring problem areas going into the offseason that weren't addressed adequately enough (GK, defending, goal scoring striker). There were players who were called out as not good enough and not the type that Lenny would favor who are still here and playing in crucial games.

The majority of supporters aren't calling for Lenny's head and the board to be sacked along with every player on the team. But why don't we have a legitimate number 1? why have we only brought in 1 CB? why don't we have a legitimate, proven goal scoring striker? Why did we buy six midfielders when we only needed 2 or 3? why is lenny doing things that are completely contrary to what he said he was not going to do towards the end of last season? asking these questions doesn't make us daft or bad supporters. as supporters we're entitled to a wee vent along with being able to ask questions of those in power. if criticizing other supporters who are having a vent on a message board makes you feel better about yourself then * bless you, but i'm not going to accept the fact that no matter what, i should stand here and be a happy clapper after what happened on Thursday. Not gonnae happen with me m8

Where have I suggested anyone should be a 'happy clapper'? All I'm saying is in 10 years I've been an * Celtic fan a minority of the support have 180'd from being jovial realists to poisonous madmen calling for blood at every single turn.

This new era of ultra groups and young fans running about in packs with funky names like 'Jungle Bhoys' aren't helping things right enough but that's another thread.

The general consensus for a good while before this season was a left back, a centre half and a striker was required. Lennon has signed; 2 left backs, a centre half and 2 strikers. The keeper we had has since left and we have signed another. McGeady has went and most people last week were happy Forrest was the perfect replacement.

Using your own take on what is and what isn't required isn't a tool to slate the manager. He can be blamed for the lack of cohesion on the park on Thursday, the wrong tactics, the fact there was no leadership, the lack of composure on the ball, the complete breakdown of communication and probably 50 other things but his signing policy was generally applauded by 90% of the fans both online and off.

so you're happy with just one centre back, a half a goal keeper signed and another striker that can't score? you saw the product of it on thursday. i'm not happy with it. we definitely need a keeper still, are we going to get one? probably not.

now you're having a go at the "ultra" groups? how are they slagging the manager, the players or the board? it's my impression that all they've done is brought back an atmosphere to celtic park thats been missing for ages. did i not see something where they attacked the current administration or players, etc? i think they're part of the solution not the problem

    A 6 foot 7 'half a goalkeeper' :56:

This is the point I'm making, I'm going to hazard a guess you haven't seen Forster or Hooper play in any more than 3 games? Yet they are pish because Utrecht beat us 4 nil when neither played. Where is the logical train of thought in that? If we had beat Utrecht they would both be world beaters for the exact same reasons, because the fans are happy and there's no need to slate everything.

Like I said the fan groups thing is a different thread but if you think a group of young guys with extremist opinions of Celtic are part of the solution to Celtic regaining the title then I'd suggest you're wide of the mark. The Green Brigade have been brilliant for bringing back an atmosphere and for their backing of this new team being assembled but their continual pursuit of John Reid's removal amongst other things is not helping Celtic in any way.
