Every single time we lose a match, there's a reaction like this. We've got to get it into our heads that we've no * given right to win any match we play. We were spoiled last decade with success so now some fans think any defeat is unacceptable. It's a ridiculous attitude and we're rightly eating humble pie at the moment. Yes, we are a great club with a fantastic and long history, but every club in the world goes through tough times so we've got to continue with our support until things get better. Stop spitting the dummies when there's a defeat.

    Totally.

I was thinking this the other day, after the St Mirren game. Two good home games, and folk already had us halfway to the Europa Final in Dublin. And I thought, first bad result we get, it'll be the worst Celtic team since John Barnes, sack the manager and board, sell all the players.

Either there's a load ae drama queens on here, or the Internet causes bipolar disorder.
    Not sure which. :icon_mrgreen:

Well if you read my post again, you'll see I wasn't criticising negativity, but overreaction. The same overreaction that made us worldbeaters last week, makes us the worst in history this week.

It's like irritable bowel syndrome: last week it's skooshy, this week it's pellet-like.
    But it's * just the same. :56:

You must live inside a small bubble if you think it is only people on the internet that share the same disgust over the Utrecht result. It's not the case of it being the first bad result we got, it's the fact that the 3 most important games we have had since Lennon being the manager, we have lost. A couple of them highly embarassing.

There is something seriously wrong if we are going into a game with a lead of 2-0 aggregate and ending up losing 4-0. And people are duly voicing their completely rational concerns. Are we just expected to brush the defeat off the very next day and go on as if it didn't happen. Too many of the support already did that with Mowbray since which didn't work out too well.

Dosen't make you ones who don't criticise and shout at the ones who do any more of a supporter. Just stupid imo and the type of supporter the Celtic board love, the more supporters like you lot who are happy to see Celtic slide down the pan without saying anything but that 'faithful through and through' pish, the less money the board will have to fork out. Too many idiot Celtic fans who will stand any pish.

Ok, that's made-up pish for a start. We have played four important games under Neil Lennon - the two against Braga, and the two against Utrecht. Of those games we have won two and lost two.

No, just to avoid throwing a complete wobbly & running around making bird noises, and instead calm doon & remember this team's only been together a couple of weeks.

I never said it did. This is you introducing the "more of a supporter" thing, not me.

Great post, too many on here are content with second best, my mates at work or on the bus hate losing which is what we must introduce into the Celtic team, I read all those post about how we will be world beaters and have asked before for fans to cool it and bragg only when we have won something, we need quality:50:

That is total bollox mate, Utrecht would likely split us and the huns. If you think Hibs and United would end higher than Utrecht over here, then you need to quit the drugs.

This is half of our problem, underestimating teams, and overegging ourselves.

We are pish, Utrecht are on the up.

Try dealing with facts, instead of dressing up stupit opinion as fact.

Absolutely mate! Some ppl seem to think that a sense of perspective = being disloyal to your club! I mean FFS! None of us are 'content' with losing to Utrecht, but what is the point in pretending that our players have somehow ripped us off? They were deservedly beaten by a team who, from the looks of things, appear to be superior at this moment in time. The manner of the defeat was pish, yes, but * happens try looking forward. And imo, if Utrecht were Scottish, the SPL would be a 3 horse race. Finishing outside the top 4!? Your on smack!

It costs me circa a sb amount for a single game, taking flights/hotel/grub/drinks into account, so don't pull the sb pish with me. I live here in Holland, have done for more than 30 years, and thought we'd get through, but didn't think it would be easy.

How much Dutch football do you see to make such a ridiculous comment?

BTW, getting to Seville put us in 30 million quid of debt, which is why we are now fielding haddies, instead of players.

if you beleive celtic dont have the right to beat
utrecht you aint a celtic fan imo . and it aint an over
reaction for the last * time. example if you make
a * up at work your boss will call you in to his office
shout and hurl abuse at you and tell you it wasnt good
enough. then he would tell you next time dont * and
do your best. and then you go out do your best . then
your boss gives you employee of the year and forgives
you. its just the same with the * celtic support.
they have the right to expect better all we wanted was
a run in the group strage not to win the final fs but they
could not even give us that. thats all i am saying

And rather than have you make me regurgitate what ive already been saying, i'm simply gonna tell you that I disagree with you and I think your talking pish. Although, I didn't realise you had the monopoly on what makes for a true Celtic fan. Maybe I should consult your manual. I don't mind debate, but clearly this has wound you up to the point of jizzin' yourself. I'm gonna consider a civilsed argument with you none starter. Anybody that disagrees with me, but would like to continue discussing Celtic in a constructive manner then I'd like to hear from you.

Name me one member of this site, one genuine Celtic fan member, that is content with being second best.

There are broadly 2 types of members; realists who put a positive spin on things because Celtic is their team i.e. the majority of people. Then there are those that exist on this site and walking down the street and in the boozers at the weekend just to lambast every single little thing anyone or thing does in relation to Celtic. They are everywhere and it's getting worse and worse, season after season.

I don't deny any of those that enjoy berating Celtic, as a fan, their opinion. My problem with this type of person is, what the * do you get out of supporting Celtic if you can't take joy in watching us hump St Mirren? or Kayal's performance against Utrecht at home? or seeing James Forrest become a player before our eyes?

React to a 4 nil humping to Utrecht because we were complete and utter * but 'Sack the board' 'Sell all the players' 'Lennon is out of his depth' are all meanderings of a new breed of lunatic Celtic fan.
