    he has been out injured for a long time and has still to get back into things fully, but 2 goals in the last 2 games now, also hit the underside of the crossbar the other night, should have scored a few, the guy is a legend and very technically experienced, saves him going away for nothing, would love to keep the big guy! form will come back to him, I think it is starting to already, great in the air, has good chemistry with McDonald and has passion for the club... can't ask for more!

    If he can keep free from injuries and retain the form he is capable of,then sign him up.......but he is getting on now and i think he is going to be more injury prone.

    he is only 31, he won't lose any of his technical ability, experience or aerial threat, he might be a little slower to get back in form from this injury but he is getting there fast enough for me, will cost nothing to extend his contract, better than spending a few million on someone to replace him.

    balances the books, keeps the team chemistry together and the boss and fans want it to happen... so I don't see why it won't

    P.S. his song is too good not to sing for another season ;)

    If I was strachn I would sign him up as even if you know hes not going to play then maybe get some money for him instead of him going for * all, did big jan himself not say he wants to go back to PSV or something like that

    Well lets give Naylor a new contract also because he was good just over a year ago as well.

    Seriously though, I think we'll get better than him available in the Summer for a similar wage.

    how can you compare Big Jan to Lee Naylor??? Naylor was good for 1 season and then pish... Big Jan has been pure quality for years, got injured at the end of last year and like anyone else, had to start form from scratch again, now he has 2 goals in 2 games, give the man a break!

    you want to spend money in the summer on a striker when Jan is perfectly good enough for us, use that money on a LB where it is needed, ideally we should get another Hinkel to use on the other side!

    Jan and McDonald had a powerful run together last season, but injury has messed about with it for this season, but for the next 8 games and next year there is no reason wh Skippy and Big Jan can't repeat the same again! WGS Knows it and so does everyone else.

    Sorry mate but I can't agree on this. I watched Sutton for Celtic and he was what you stated. VoH doesn't even come close to him.

    he ahs been pure quality for years, not just with us but with PSV too, If he wasn't injured for so long this year I'm sure we would have had a repeat of last years jan, the man who got important Championship saving goals. I've a lot of time for the big guy, not everyones cup of tea and I respect that. Personally I hop he stays though ;)

    ( but not a touch on Sutton still)

    I love the big man but times up, the injuries have taken their toll.

    He's a cracking big guy who seems to have the club at heart, but sorry, no room for sentiment when your shelling out tens of thousands a week.

    He shouldn't be offered a new deal, he's not contributing enough.

    If he scores 6 goals in the last 8 games then is he then worthy of an extention? if he gets a hat-trick against the huns is he then worthy? yes he has been bad, but sentiment or not I belive he is still a great striker, who would we bring in better? Fletcher? McCormack? I still think Big Jan would get more than either of them right now... but at the same time I do agree with moving forward... Lets just like wee gordon make the choice :)

    Edit: theres lots of talk about getting Fletcher... but even Deek has scored more than him this year... and that didn't go well last time... IF we replace Jan.. PLEASE WGS buy McFadden that would make my day!
