That because they know how to play them, play them to their emotions.
Do that, and you will get laid every time.

Went through a break up towards the end of last year.

As suggested the best thing to do is keep yourself busy. Get yourself some new clothes and hit the town with your mates and get yourself in there with as many women as possible.

If you ever find out, let me know. It's been 8 years and although have come to peace with letting go, but have not been able to move on.

I've let go of the hurt she did to me, especially at a time when I really needed her support, as I had given up my entire world, friends and family to be here. Then to lose my sight and with it my ability to work, her betrayals and finally her absconding with our daughter. It hurt a lot and it did take a few years, but genuinely for the past 5 years or more, I don't have an issue with whatever my ex gets up to now, the relationship she has with her girlfriend or anything like that. Beyond how anything might impact on our daughter, her wellbeing, or my ability to further the relationship I have with my daughter, it's not my concern. But at least we have this one geniunely wonderful thing that came from our time together.

But moving on is something completely different. Maybe I don't want to be hurt again. Perhaps it is I never want to let anyone get that close again and maybe in the years since I have just accepted being and now am content to remain a solitary figure. Which, in a way, is kind of sad, because it does make for something of a lonely existence, but I know it's safe from being hurt. But that is the reality of being able to let go but not really moving on. It is kind of disassociation and the longer it goes the less inclined I am to seek out a remedy, and equally, the less likely it is to simply happen upon a proper solution.

Ask her round but tell her she'll have to sleep in the spare room.
