Stokes by a mile, Griffiths is still learning his trade, and Pukki, well Pukki has a lot to prove yet :smiley-laughing002:

Unsurprisingly, most of the people who talk a lot of sense in Celtic Chat regularly, have said Stokes. It's not even close.

A find Griffiths more exciting. Can't wait to see more of him next season.

Probably Stokes, provided he has a partner like Griffiths playing alongside him. Excellent finisher and gets a lot of assists.

I think he did, I think the stats back that up as well. I think most people got in a tizzy about Griffith's because we were starved of a player of his style, I still have a lot of doubts about him, mostly his finishing, he does seem a player who can take 3/4 chances to score the one goal, if we are going to be relying on him he needs to be more clinical for me.

don't think any of them are an out and out striker, Stokes and Griffiths both drift out wide. But i've went for Stokes.

I think it is a fair enough assessment, neither Stokes or Griffiths are target men.

I think the question you are asking is unfair of the poster, you are leading him on.It's his first post so give him a chance.

    * that is a good question, i dont think we have an out and out striker, at this moment anyway, not one player who wants to stay up the park and just score goals, they all have there faults.

I'm really surprised that it's so close between Stokes and Griffiths.

I guess Griffiths hasn't been here long enough to * off the negative brigade.

Also he's not Irish, that always helps in these polls...

Currently Stokes but I'd like to see Griffiths in Europe. People keep saying he isn't good enough, based on what? He'll play on the shoulder of any defender and he is busy and quick enough to get chances at any level IMO.

We're in a bit of a limbo just now as the new manager gives the distinct feeling there will be changes and they will be pretty drastic.

I agree. Griffiths needs a full season behind him before we can really judge him, no doubt he will score goals but for all round play Stokes is definitely ahead and has proved it consistently for us.

I still think there's an excellent player in Pukki and with a year bedding in and hopefully some confidence he could have a really good season ahead. Don't think he'll ever be a 30 goal a season type. 15-20 goals and playing a bit deeper as a creative influence is probably his best hope/position.

As for Watt, well we all he know he has the raw talent but time will tell if he can fulfil his potential. Question marks still hang over his temperament. Here's hoping.

Balde hasn't had enough game time for me to judge. Against Liverpool he was very good & I thought we might have a very decent player on our hands then in some games recently he has been woeful. Which is the real Balde? Truth is he hasn't played enough and some may think Deila's style may work against him. One crumb of comfort for Balde may be the way Deila used a similar type of striker Peter Kovacs at stromsgodset to good effect.

Griffiths has the potential to be as good as Stokes, but he is not quite there yet IMO, as Devlin said sometimes Griffiths needs three or four chances to score, Stokes don't need that many, his percentage game is lower, but Griffiths is getting there fast. Once the court case is over, I think Griffiths will be even better, but what we do need is another option upfront, could Tony Watt be that different option ?

Id say if you gave them 30 games a season Watt would be the best.
