Meat Joint on Sauchiehall Street. Not heard a bad word against it of the umpteen folk that have went.

    The food is dynamite.

Done the one in Partick last week. Not a big fan of Italian but have to say the food was amazing.

Aye I'm the same mate. I like it but most stuff I've had I've kinda thought I could prob make something not far off that myself, but I loved it last week so prob be a regular thing. Partick one looks massive compared to the one on the Parade.

I've been going there for years and their food is great however, it's getting a bit pricey. If you fancy a good Indian then try the Nakador which is just along the road from it.

The best steak I’ve ever eaten was in Glasgow at the Spanish Butcher, and I’ve eaten in some pretty fancy steak restaurants.

Pretty expensive, but delicious. They use some sort of Galician aged beef which * all over Scotch beef imo.

A new place has opened up in the old Grill on the Corner spot. Bothwell House it's called.

Spanish Butcher is excellent. Some folk don't like Miller and Carter because it's a chain but I've never had a bad steak out it.

    +1 for Spanish butcher.

Miller and Carter is good too. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at it just because it’s a chain.

I went to Porter and Rye in Finnieston a couple of years ago and remember it being really good. Anyone else given it a try?

I was going to say that actually. I’ve been to the one in Newton Mearns and it probably wasn’t as good to be honest. Not sure if it was a bit new at the time.

The one on Vinny’s has a good atmosphere too being in the city centre in the old post office.

Also been to the one in Aberdeen and that was pretty good.

Wasn’t the best when I went for the price anyway.

Butchershop is class for a steak but the rest of their foods not the best. The steaks unreal though.

Spanish Butcher, Miller and Carter, Meat Joint on Suachiehall Street I’ve heard great things about but not been yet

I enjoy Miller n Carter. There's a place opened up near me where the guy used to be the Head chef but went himself. Basically copy's them but you can get the tomahawk n stuff for 30 odd instead of the 50/60. Absoloutely identical nachos aswel and a few of his own stuff.

Have been to Miller & Carter (the one just along from George Square on St Vinnie's) before and it was decent, however my daughter had a bad experience there (nothng to do with the food), thus partly the reason why was asking about alternatives.

Spanish butcher is excellent, but went to Gaucho on west Nile st yesterday and it was absolutely class. Not cheap, but the starters, sides, steaks and drink was excellent, and the staff were really good too. More of a place for a treat but was absolutely brilliant

I went to Gaucho a couple weeks ago, food was good but for me not worth the money. It was extortionate even for a steak gaff.

If you’re looking to spend a few quid on a special occasion it has to be Tiffney’s.

Went to Mozza pizza restaurant on Saturday and really liked it, much better than that Pizza Punks and seemed quite a bit cheaper.

Theres a few restaurants in Glasgow that i cant see past.

Spanish Butcher on Miller Street is a touch of class. Same group that owns the Butchershop - always thought it was an Indy

Anchor Line On St Vincent - never had a bad experience here at all.

Next on the list is Meze Meze at the top end of Argyle Street - Hear nothing but good things!
