    Solid Midfield...Sure.

You have Naka,Commons and Lubo in there - automatically 3 men down when defending.

That team wouldn't win the SPL (1998-2010 era)

You also have Matthew, Mjallby and Mulgrew at CB.

Matthews not tough enough or good enough position-wise to play there, Mulgrew not fast enough. Ludicrous that you ignored Valgaeren, Van Dijk and Wilson.

Possibly but I still say if he left right now his Celtic career isn't anything on a gell of a lot of defenders that may not have had as much ability as him. He's been here 6 months and people are thinking his Celtic career has been better than the likes of McNeill, Aitken, Mjallby, Jock Stein, John Clark and co?

You can't do what they've done in 6 months. In pure ability him, Mjallby or Reiper's the best I've saw but if he had to leave today what would you think of his Celtic career as a whole?

Got the feeling I've missed someone.

Aitken in for Van Dijk if folk aren't happy about him being included after 6 months.

We seem to have an awful lot of 12 year olds on this forum.
Probably explains all the name calling and the hard man syndrome :smiley-laughing002:

    Forster
    McGrain Aitken Rieper Boyd
    McStay Lambert
    Moravcik Collins
    Larsson Sutton

Subs: McClair, Hooijdonk, McKinlay, Boruc, Elliot, Agathe, Wanyama,

Even if he were to leave after 6 months he would still be good, but then I might drop him. I have Bellamy and Robbie Keane in my squad, and they were only here for half a season, though neither were first choice or second choice. <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I don’t he will go in this window. I think he will be the subject of £10m bid from an EPL club this summer (a massive sum for a CB). Even if he plays 1 full season, yes he should be included in place of guys like Aitken, Stubbs, Balde, Mjallby, who have performed well over many years, but who don’t have ALL FOUR of the attributes I listed when choosing Elliot and Van Dijk (pace, height, body strength, bring ball out from the back). I would add positional sense in as well. In fairness Aitken comes close on all 5 of these attributes. <o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
Also you include Billy McNeill in your list. I did say I thought Van Dijk was Celtics 2nd best ever CB. <o:p></o:p>

I know where you're coming from mate, I think ability wise he definitely is up there, best I've personally saw since Mjallby. I just think over the Celtic careers the likes of Aitken far outshines him.

It's the same as the likes of Di Canio, ability wise he was beyond almost anything I've saw, except Lubo and Larsson. If you take his Celtic career and measure it against somebody like Alan Thompson then Thompson, while not as good a player, was far better for Celtic.

I suppose it's how you judge it.
