    The bloke is lost.

Never expected to ever beat Barca with the team we have.

The price on Messi's head could have bought our club.

Tonight, there was no tears from me. Just acceptence, and frustration.

To compare us beating Barca with Perth is madness. Or trolling.

I suppose it boils down to what Celtic means to a person. To some its just a team you support. To others its much much more.

I'm proud of whatever we achieve....but some achievements go beond our hopes. That night was trully special.

Wondering if I can smell a hun.

Just back from game and still smiling. Went to nacionale stadium today, got my photo taken with the European Cup where Ceaser stood, met Davy Hay and scored a goal in the sacred net.

In my eyes the game tonight was a bonus. I will take the memories I have today with me to my grave. Fuckiiiiiiiiing maaaaaaaaagiiiiiiiiccccccccc. Hail hail.

Some of the comments about hooper are quite frankly embarrassing. We could barely get the ball out of our half yet he's being made a scapegoat. What the * difference would watt have made other than he wouldnt have got the ball either. Blame an individual if you want but the fact is the whole team were poor

I was really surprised at the attendance, I was always under the impression Benfica had a much bigger support than us

Few people said it before me,

Its not about tonights result, or the last result
Mowbray set us back at least 5 years in Europe, we spent * all to challenge that fact.
Low and behold, after a couple of tries, Lennons got us a team that got our first away win in The Champions League. THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. A bit later he went and got the same team to beat Barcelona.

I'm not of the mind that one result should carry a team, or good will towards that team for an indefinite period. But its worth something.

All in all, if we go Europa style, and don't get much further, its still so much farther than any pundit, manager or opposition thought we'd get.
And thats where I like Celtic. The ultimate underdog. Thats where we were in 67, 98, 03 and 2012, and we showed them wrong. Sooner or later this team will have to live up to their standards, maybe even next year, but not yet. Right now I'm happy to let them all know that we don't care what league WE play in, what league THEY play in, what they think our standard our football is or indeed, where they think our place in world football should be. We are still a force to be reckoned with, and these people should know Who we are, and that We are here.

And we're not leaving anytime soon.

    Gutted about tonight.

However we played the team I thought we would play but the problem was a few of the players weren't fit enough.

Still, to play players not fully fit, away from home, in the Champions League and still only lose narrowly is testament to how far this team has come on such a short space of time.

I hope we put a bit more faith in the likes of Kayal and Lassad in future.

If you had offered me the chance to go into matchday 6 with the chance to make the last 16 I would have chopped your hand off.

What a great adventure this young team have taken us on.

I went back 20 pages and read one page.

    I don't think I'll bother with the rest. :56:

Gutted. see the thing is im old fashioned. you know when things are maybe not going your way, im the the kinda guy that looks like he gives a *. What annoys me about a lot of the current breed is they flop about with their pus tripping them, instead of rolling up their * sleeves and making a difference (hello Hooper, Commons Kayal and to an extent Ledley) Maybe unfair to single out Hooper in this but every time a camera focuses in on him there is a collective sigh of dejection when things are not happening. There needs to be fire in these bellies and a * will to win or die trying. As i say, i am old fashioned, but if i had EVER been deemed fit to wear the hoops for real, i would have bled * for the cause. I will never understand these players that dont get it.

    I'm not picky.
If he's not getting the service, things not going the teams way and the referee blowing up at ridiculous decisions then he WILL be frustrated. He runs his * off but if he doesn't get the service then how is he supposed to score? I mean just look at one part in the second half where he ran probably a good 50 yards after a pretty hopeless ball putting pressure on the center back. How many players would have just stood and watched in that instance? Plenty of times when he got the ball he managed to hold it up and bring other players into play.

Plus he is just back from a hamstring injury as well so he probably wasn't fully fit.

    Good post

People saying he should have been subbed for watt as if he's gonna magicly get service and bang a few in. Just the usual people looking for a scapegoat.

I agree with you here, he wasn't fit and tbh done well with miku against barca , and tbh tony watt should have been brought on alot earlier than he did , I'm not going to blame anyone Benfica deserved the win, if anything I thought last nights game was harder than barca away

I don't believe people are looking for a scapegoat as I don't think hooper was to blame as we all know if he had got a chance he would have almost certainly taken it , I just think the point people Are making is that if you have a striker just back from hamstring injury and missed The last few games he should be subbed when he can't run anymore after 65 minutes for a fully fit striker , not a scapegoat it's just logic
