Spartak were missing 3 or 4 key players

Because they're experienced, reliable players, deserving of the opportunity.

And our bench isn't great, right now.

we are hard to beat at home and only barca have done us in europe so we should get the job done if we have the right mentality on the night , i fancy barca and befica to draw the last one which we all know will make it 100 times tougher on the night for us, its the celtic way.

Pretty poor tonight. Just did'nt get at them. A missed oppurtunity to wrap up qualifying but at least the last game will be interesting. Time for a nerve jangler with a hopefully happy outcome. Mon the Hoops

Initially I was disappointed in Mathews tonight with the mistake he made leading to the first goal but he redeemed himself with he save off the line. I said in the first five minutes the ref was going to be very difficult tonight. Unfortunate the Hooper 'offside' was given otherwise it would have been a goal and could have changed the final result.

The Benfica players falling over at he slightest little bump was embarrassing on their behalf my mate even text me saying the Portuguese made the Spanish and Italians look like rocks.

Was always going to be a midfield battle in this game but I felt we just didn't have the luck in the middle of the park tonight, but that's football and it happens some times. In the second half it was just a matter of time before they scored. We came out the second half to play out the draw which in my opinion was the wrong thing to do. Commons not putting the ball across goal and going for the shot was the wrong thing to do and it was unfortunate there wasn't a leg put in on the dying seconds with the Watt strike/cross.

I am far from disappointed in this game tonight and far from disappointed in this whole campaign as it has been an amazing performance from the bhoys overall. I thought before hand I would be happy with a Europa cup place and have a good run at that competition but the more i think about the possibility of last 16 football it has taken over I just hope we don't look back at the home game against Benfica and think what could have been. I don't think Benfica will beat Barca at home so it will be down to us to put in a performance against spartak in the last game which will make a tremendous atmosphere at paradise.

Watt shouldn't have played, Miku shouldve started and atleast got on...

Unfortunately Watt showed his inexperience at the wrong times.

Dont let that * into your head if Watt had have put his shot wide or If sammy hadn't had scored that header in Moscow where would we be?

Yes but things change sometimes. In the summer most fans would have been delighted with just qualifying for the CL. Then once we qualified most people on here said they would be happy for a 3rd place.

After the barca game most fans I think would be disapionted with 3rd place given recent results, its only natural.

I'm immensely proud of how we've done this far, however tonight was a dissapionting result and performance from us. Huge game in two weeks and I think if we replicate previous performances we have a good chance to do so.

If we fail to qualify I will be bitterly disappointed of course. We should always be looking to improve as a club and I think were heading in the right direction.

Need to eliminate performances like this one though.

Particularly given that Miku is in form and Lennon has started Miku before in big matches. Strange decision to play Hooper to be honest.

No complaints, we were poor, looked nervous and couldn't string 3 passes together.

Ambrose, I have said before, has the 'Caldwell' about him, can look good one minute then be made to look ridiculous the next. Matthews was at fault for the 1st goal, Wilson for the second, despite having a good game.

Ledley was anonymous and our captain .. well .. dig, aggression, charging around ... sorry, not enough at this level. His ball retention is so poor and he completely lacks game intelligence. All he did was push, shove, fall and snarl, we need better. If he's not fit, he doesn't play, I am tired of this 'sub him after an hour to protect him' *. It's a waste of a substitution, get fit, or get out the team!

Hooper was short of service and Samaras, was .. well .. pish!

Tonight was a 'free hit', but lessons need to be learned, on to the next.

we were rank , some terrible perfomances out there, brown shouldnt have been picked, ambrose was mince...

in all fairness it was a tall order to get something away to benfica , even if a point was enough , tonight wasnt our night, we have shown enough in the previous four games before this to show that tonight was just a was one off bad game

wanyama is a big loss but we can still win without him
