To be honest with you, as much as a fan i was of Bellars, had we bought him we would never have got the likes of Naka, Boruc and even Roy Keane because of the wages Bellamy asks for.

And a deal to make Petrov stay would've been completely dead in the water as well.

Great player though, scored some fantastic goals for us.

Magic has just been unfortunate that some injuries have sidelined him but i still rate the man's talent for scoring goals and when him and Beattie are fully fit, we'll be back to our best.

lets forget the money thing: tbh havent seen much of zurawski yet. either he has been injured or out of form. hopefully he will get a bit better very soon.

on the other hand bellamy was the absolute bomb! he came and scored.

I went for zurawski because i dont think he has showed his true potential yet but when he does he will be just as good as bellamy was

Both had half a season at Celtic, Bellamy made more of an impact and avoided injuries. Maciej played matches when he should of said he was injured

They both seem to suffer from the same problem. Both came here and have missed games through injury. Not their fault but bellamy has done it at every club he's been at.

No doubt Bellamy was a class player when he was here but it's Zurawski for me. We are still to see the real Zurawski imo.

it's a tough one, they're both injury prone but bellamy certain proved himself here whereas majic is yet to do so. Bellamy for me.

well i was speaking to a polish guy the other week and i was saying about Zura and how he hasnt performed and his words to me where

" he is the greatest ever polish striker and he will come good for you "

welll lets hope so :97: we have seen flashes of what he can do but lets get it all out of him next season :50:

as for bellamy he didnt want to play for us after his loan if he did he wouldnt have went to a team like blackburn he would have stayed and waited for a bigger offer

Dont know why there is a poll but there is. Both have/were been at the club for a similar period. You cannot base judgements on "potential" of what people from poland or wherever have said about Zurawski because, quite frankly he has been well below the reputation that we were fed by many people, including alot of people on this forum. Comparing performances its an absolute no brainer, Bellamy got the job done time after time, "Lack of" Magic has failed to deliver so far us. Also for people pointing out finances who wouldnt have come this.that whatever, its not the questio nbeing asked here its a pure 1 on 1 and i cannot understand why Zurawski is winning this poll?

    There is my two cents.

Would you rather the bells had been signed to stay OR zurawski had come? That is the question.

Surely financial comparisons must be taken into account as I would rather Zurawski had came instead of spending the vast majority of our transfer budget on an injury prone player how reportedly upset team morale at a dinner in Ireland. Bellers is not worth £6m and so if he had stayed we probably would not have seen Naka come. That is why I'd rather bellers hadn't been signed and Zurwaski to come. Zurawski has been unfortunate with injuries but his scoring record with Poland in recent times is very impressive and when he was 100% fit, he was scoring and setting up goals. He adds another dimension to our attack.

Thats my two cents worth also :84:

The question does not ask about money at all not its not relevant one bit. What has Zurawski done in the same time he has been here as Bellamy was to suggest he adds a better dimension to the sie than bellamy did? Bellamy was and still is a top quailty and proved it for Newcastle and for us, Zurawski scored goals in Poland and no offence to any poles, but its doesnt really compare with scoring goals in the EPL. As for his reported upsetting moral episodes, i sure didnt see anyone not running over and saying well done bella's when he was slamming them into the net. And while i probably shouldnt put this in i will, people say bellamy is not worth 6mil but Robbie Keane is, if Bellamy was Irish would he be worth 6mil, because on performances there isnt a * of alot of difference overall between the two.

    Another two cents.

bellamy had been awesome when he was here. a wee topscorer. zurawksi has been more or less injured.

we really cant say yet how good zurawski is or will be in glasgow. i hope for him and for celtic, he will be grand.

    but i support Stephen's post.

Robbie Keane is never worth 6million these days! How can you pay £6m for someone who only plays as a sub most weeks with the odd start. I really dont want Celtic to sign robbie because i dont think he will fit in at celtic.

Back to the question - Bellamy is ten twice the player zurawski will ever be, he is a different gravy and that is why he was in the premiership before he came to us and zurawski was playing in poland. Now both have had the same time i think we can see bellers had a better impact on the team and was quicker and scored more goals. Bellamy any day!

Personally I think Bellamy was a great player and if it wasn't for Strachan falling out with him at Coventry, then he could still be playing for us. Zurawski was starting to show what he was all about before he got injured against England in the WC qualifier.

Zurawski and Bellamy are roughly the same age, so neither would be classed as a "younger option" I prefereed Bellamy at the time to him, but we have to have faith in Magic to do the job :50: .

Craig Bellamy could have been a Celtic Player if the board sat down and talked to him before he went awayto join Blackburn was the fee not lower than £6.millon,and GS did sate when Asked about Bellars will he stay or will he leave and Strachan said "We try our up-most to keep Craig Bellamy at CP." The board didn't even offer Bellamy a contract Hartson even said that maybe that is why BBJ he was benched earlier in the season who knows? Only Stachan Does,Bellamy was class when he was at CP all the fans could sense that and the goals he scored in 6-months were great I remember the winner at CP when we had a corner against Aberdeen with the score at 2-2 and when it got swung in Bellamy Chested the ball down then bang!-What a goal but that is what he was payed to do and he didn't half show what he could do and look at Zurawski a slow start and then the game against Dumfermline came his 1st goal and he took it well he could have missed it with the form he was in but that was him off and scoring but then came the England Match there was talk that Magic was already injured a little so if that was true why risk it getting worse by playing(he missed the double-header against Rangers very important games in my opinion)And look at him now no-one has heard anything on Zurawski for days(still a good player)But will he be the same with the World Cup coming he might just sit it out and wait for Germany hope not though but you never know players untill something happens.
If Stachan wanted to He Could Have got Bellamy all he had to do was ask!(I may be wrong but he wasn't even offered a contract so if that was me Yes i would look esle were and if the club didn't want to speak to me then yes i would look else where,Bellamy(25/26?) could have become a legend just like Larsson+he was a lot younger than Zurawski(29) and the board could have funded it and I bet you We would still be in the CL easy:humpani: and no matter what Celtic could have still bought Shunsuke Nakamura but maybe we wouldn't have got Keane but if we were still in the CL and in the last 32 with Keane Leaving Man-Utd we would have had the funds to get Keane with us doing well in the CL but that is in the past anyway thats my opinion on the subject bhoys and ghirls
